I recently got a Shanling M3X. Not really an "audiophile" - just love listening to music in general. Anyway. I really love this thing but I have a minor issue. The Shanling player on this DAP doesn't display special characters for some reason while the Shanling player app on my phone is displaying the special characters just fine.

Specifically the é is not displaying correctly. So instead of that, it displays this instead �

I have several songs from singers like Jhené Aiko, Beyoncé, etc and it's distracting when browsing songs on the player. Hopefully this can be fixed for future updates. I have UAPP on this DAP too but I would rather prefer just using the stock Shanling music player. See image on the link below.

Yeah, this was reported to software team few times in past. No adjustment so far.

@Shanling I am having some issues with the m3x. I cannot download and install various apps, notably play store. I tried some of the suggestions from this thread, using the apkpure website instead of the app, also no joy, I cannot seem to get this to work. I just went to update the firmware and the support app won't update, it stops and I get a message saying 'support keeps stopping close app'. I have rebooted but still the same.

I just bought M3x using with my Gryphon but when I turn it on. M3X turn my Gryphon to 94% volume level. is there any setting to fix this? I tried boost at 5% and limit max at 75% but still doesn't do anything

Gryphon, as in the iFi Gryphon DAC/AMP?

And do you mean that the volume on M3X jumps to 94 when connecting the DAC? For DAC/AMPs like Gryphon with their own volume control, we recommend to use M3X at fixed USB out volume (100%) and use volume just on the DAC/AMP

Whatever I changed M3X fixed USB out to 100/80/70, it doesn't matter. The volume still at 94% indicate on the gryphon and almost pop my ear drum. so for now, I turn both (M3X and Gryphon) on then adjust the volume on the gryphon from 94 to below 50 before I press play music.

So the volume doesn't change on M3X, but on the Gryphon itself? I'm afraid we can't assist with that right now, we do not have access to test this setup.

Have you turned off the volume sync on gryphon? can i know whats your gryphon setting looks like? for me the volume on m3x doesn't really matter i keep it on 99 and only use gryphon's volume, same with my iphone via bt and laptop

Did anyone meet issues with USB connection?
After plugging the DAP into the PC I get
"A request for the USB device descriptor failed."
Tried different cables, different PC, charge only and file transfer, no effects.

Hmm anyway what are trying to achieve plugging it in? use m3x as dac or transfer music? have you installed the shanling usb driver yet?

I tried to transfer music. Neither USB nor USB DAC is working (drivers are installed).
Factory reset did not help.

EDIT: Ok, I found out that the cable was faulty. Changing cable allowed to use M3X with my PC.
