I am trying to transition from the M2X to the M3x, and this has left me struggling. I have no prior experience with Android devices, so I am finding the learning curve steeper than I imagined. Can anyone help me figure out how to keep the songs on the albums in the original album order, instead of alphabetical order? Thanks.

For whatever its worth, I made the same transition, and it was also a learning curve.

If you find the Shanling app buggy, as I did... and perhaps even if not... the best recmmendation I got was to use UAPP. It's a player you can download and use instead. Also a learning curve, but I find it to be better and glad I'm using it.

Also... use the balanced jack if you can. The sound is great, much better than the normal one.

After working all of this out, I think its a fantastic player.

Now don't update to the latest Goole play store via APK Pure. Shanling then doesn't start it and reports an error. At the same time, the UAPP will stop working.
Last working was: Google Play Store_v28.7.17-21 [0] [PR] 420666243_apkpure.com.apk

It looks like UAPP doesn't work like it used to be anymore when the screen is off. You have to wake the screen up to be able to use the physical buttons. It's very sad. If you didn't update the UAPP app, don't install the v6.0.3.2.

That’s a bummer but I guess if we report the issue to UAPP app developer then they may fix it

1.UAPP verifies the license via Google play. Uninstall Google play store and UAPP, restart Shanling, install Google Play Store_v28.7.17-21 [0] [PR] 420666243_apkpure.com.apk and then UAPP. I did it yesterday, and everything works.
2. UAPP 6.0.3.2 works fine for me, including the side buttons when the screen is off. You may have the Key-lock Settings set incorrectly

I just purchased the M3X to replace the HiBy R5 Saber that I dropped in the toilet and went kaput. I thought I might as well roll the dice and try Shanling. I really do like the sound very much, and I prefer its form factor to the R5. After reading through this entire thread, I have installed an earlier version of the Google Play Store (the current one won't install), and UAPP... much preferable to the hard-to-navigate Shanling music app. For streaming, I use Apple Music primarily, and that works fine (no Dolby Atmos, though, but I don't care). I am a little concerned that it might be difficult to keep apps up-to-date because of Android 7.1.1 (Google has stopped supporting it, apparently), so I hope Shanling will do whatever it takes to prevent any problems that might arise.

We are now looking into this, seems not to be issue of Android 7, as our Android 10 models shows the same error in the app.

This is latest compatible version from middle of January.

After restart, the message was gone n reappeared. I needed to turn on hotspot on my phone to get it updated. On home WiFi network. It just says waiting for network. Anyway problem solved
