Love this DAP but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. I have a slight hearing loss in my right ear so normally adjust the left/right balance control slightly (+3) to the right. Not sure what causes this but through 4.4mm balanced this adjustment doesn't do what I expect it to - instead of shifting the balance slightly to the right, it just seems to reduce and slightly muffle both channels. Through the SE connection the balance control works fine though, and does what I'd expect.
Adjusting the balance on my R3 Pro on either the SE or 2.5mm works fine, so just seems slightly odd behaviour through the balanced out on the M3X.

Since I just got my M3X I've been going through and testing the settings. I agree there is a problem with the left/right balance on the 4.4mm output. From what I could tell the L/R balance tries to pan to left or right, but fails panning and also lowers the volume. You have to set the L/R balance back to zero to get the volume back. Hopefully @Shanling will get engineering to address this problem.

Edit: I also checked the 3.5mm SE output and the L/R balance is partially working when single DAC is selected. L/R balance works better with SE dual DAC operation.

@mt877 thanks, good to know it's not just me . Yeah am just going with L/R balance back at zero.

@Shanling be good if this could be investigated and hopefully a firmware update can address it.

Noted, will send it to the software team.

@Shanling My M3x has a small problem. Some time, the sound totally disappear for a second in any app (shanling, hiby, youtube, spotify... and DAC, Prime mode too), although the file or video still running. I was try update firmware (v1.53), factory reset, but can't fix. Plz help me.
I and the same issue too. Initially I thought it's signal dropout using wifi. But it happens w music in the SD card too. But for the past week... It hasn't happen at all. Hopefully it stays that way.

I reported it to our engineering team, awaiting feedback.

Are you running it balanced or single-ended?

The latest firmware has the worst frequent ticks and crackling sound on USB Dac. Does anyone have solution to fix this?
Have you tried to lower the bit rate to like 24bit 96k? I do get crackling sound when using dac mode at maxed bit rate and it disappear when i lowered it

How does M3X permorfm in terms of SQ against USB dongles such as Lotoo S1/S2 or Luxury&Precision W1/W2 or similar?
I'll have the new purple color M3X once my local dealer gets one in. I have a S1 so I'll report the differences once I can.
