This item was discussed with software team before, so far no decisionw as made.

In case what is holding them back is that they would also have to enlarge "Confirm Shutdown." And it won't fit in a larger font size because it will line wrap. Change it to "Shudown?"

@Shanling, the firmware version 3.0 is supposed to be released today, but I can't seem to get the file to open today. When will we be able to access the new firmware update and apply to the M2X? Thanks

Firmware V3.0 was released month ago, on October 14th.

It's fully available over OTA or to download from our website.

@Shanling, thanks for your reply, but your website still lists release date as November 14, not October 14...

Yeah, IT put there wrong month last time.

I want to connect my M2x to an external DAC using USB. I plan to buy a Topping DAC that uses USB B. I'm getting an OTG USB C to USB B cable. I'm confused about what settings I have to make on my M2x to make the connection. I see settings for USB Mode, DSD Output Mode, USB Audio Output and Output Options. My files are FLAC ripped from my CDs. Can someone help me with all of these settings?

Sorry, I didn't look carefully enough. I understand USB Audio Output and Output Options, but not the first 2 above. I would guess that USB Mode is DAC and I think I read that DSD Output Mode is DOP, but I'm not sure if that's correct. Still need help.

If the Topping is compatible with M2X, you do not need to set anything, it will automatically detect the USB DAC and switch to digital output.

USB Mode only affects how M2X connects to computer, you can ignore it for this.
DSD output mode affects how the DSD files will be processed and transported. You need to set it accordingly to capabilities of your DAC. Best is to just test it once you have it connected.
USB Audio output, for use with desktop DAC it's best to set Volume Fixed. Volume Variable is there mainly if you want to use USB-C headphones or dongles with M2X.
Output options only affects headphone outputs on M2x, you can ignore it for this.

I just wanted to say thank you to @Shanling for their customer service.

My M2X developed an issue with the volume wheel skipping a couple of months ago. The device was about 15 months old at the time (we have 2 year warranty in Spain) and after checking in here, I contacted the store I purchased it from.

In the end, it did have to get shipped to Shanling in China and has take a couple of months (which is understandable with the current logistic complications) but I just received a brand new M2X back instead of the old one being repaired.

So, thank you @Shanling!

I have and still use an M2S. One downside is the small number of tracks indexed in the UI. How many tracks can be indexed in the M2X please?

Unfortunately the limit is similar, only 20 000 files for M2X :frowning2:
