We are not seeing such reports form other users right now.

Please try to do factory reset of the player and log in again into your Tidal account.

Hello Team, thanks for your answer.

I have tried to [Restore to factory settings] then it was back to FW 2.7 still the same issue.
I upgraged to FW 3.0, still same issue.....

In TIDAL, it is impossible to open [New] or any [Categories] in Genre...

Via the following categories I am able to launch a song : [Top], [TIDAL Rising], [My Collection] and Search Bar works fine.

No one reported such issue ? Should I send you a video of the bug ?

Any plans to add Opus format support? Sometimes the highest quality available on youtube is in this format and some niche songs are available only on youtube.

any chance the M2 series becomes the Q2 series going forward.

It would make sense to me to have the non-android DAP's be the Q series and the android DAP's stick with the M series. This would make it easy to know what OS each DAP release has either MTouch or android. I could see a Q2 with maybe a slightly larger higher res screen ,the new ES9219C DAC/Amp in place of the older 9218, bluetooth 5.0, etc...

For me not wanting android the Q series will be the one to watch for future developments

I'm curious why you want to avoid android?

I simply don't need anything that android adds feature wise. I have owned two android DAP's and been disappointed by both. They are very slow to boot, super slow to scan libraries, sluggish performance. Reduced battery life due to android overhead. I don't do any streaming which to me is the only reason to go for android. I mistakenly assumed that a more expensive DAP (Fiio M9) would sound better but the Q1 sounds better than the M9 at least with my headphones. The Q1 has a more natural sound, better detail retrieval and after burn in a soundstage that is as wide and deep as the M9 with very good imaging. The sound is quite amazing for a $125 CDN DAP.

I have owned the Shanling Q1 now for over a month and it rocks. Q1 boots in 10 seconds, M9 40 seconds or so, scans my 9500+ track library in about 10 minutes vs close to an hour for the M9. I am getting double the battery life with the Q1 as well and it has no trouble driving my headphones even on low gain.

Simply put if you don't need streaming then don't bother with android. If Shanling keeps producing their MTouch based DAP's I don't think I will ever buy another android based DAP again. I prefer to pay for the best sound quality for the price and not for a bunch of features I probably won't use.

Hello @Shanling,

I have an issue with the M2x player. When it's on, the display screen will stay on for 20 seconds, then turn off for a second or so, then turn on again for another 20 seconds, and keeps repeating like that. The screen never shuts off and stays off, except when I turn the player off. I just updated the firmware but it didnt help. I looked at my settings but couldnt figure out what could cause this issue or how to change it. Could you help? Thanks!!

Please check how you have set idle settings for screen. Try to set it to off and to different values, if it will repeat.

Thanks for your reply. So, do you mean "Idle - Sleep Timer"? I took a look at it. It was set to "off". I turned it on, and set it at different amounts of seconds. It didn't change anything, the screen continues to turn off after about 20 seconds, stay off for a second or two, and then turn on again, and keeps repeating like that.

No, in idle setting, if you swipe left, you will get to standby/shutdown and then Screen off setting.

Thanks, got it.

So, unfortunately the same behavior is continuing. If it set it to any amount of seconds, the screen will stay on for that amount of seconds, then shut off for a couple of seconds, then turn on again and repeat. And if I set it to "off", it just stays on. So it seems like something is triggering the player to think that I'm clicking it to wake up the screen. (I tried turning off and on the "double click to wake up" setting and that also had no effect.)

Also, when the screen is on, when I tap the scroll wheel at any point, the screen will shut off as it should, but then turn back on again after a couple of seconds.

So, for an hour or so, when I would push the button on the side, the screen would shut off for a minute or two, and then turn on again... while setting a certain amount of seconds in the Idle -Screen Off menu still wasn't working at all. Now, suddenly, everything is working as it should. Weird behavior. Any dea why this might have happened, and anything I can do to prevent it from starting again? It seems like something mechanical may be on the fritz, I don't know. Anyway I'm glad that for the moment it seems to be normal again.

Haven't seen such behavior before. Might be something with the wheel button, in which case enabling double click to wake up might help, if it comes back.
