So am I the only person who has the following issue: When first playing a song after starting the unit, the beginning of the song is cut off a little bit?

If I am not, does it bother you? Should Shanling look into this for a future firmware update?

We are aware of this, it's caused by hardware part of the player, something with electric current going to all parts of audio chain(that's as much as I understood from our Chinese engineer).

Since it's happening only at this one strict point, just for the first playback, not at every new song, we believe it's problem that most users can understand and live with.

My advice, just after starting first song, push "previous song" button.

Me too, but I have been repeating the song right after a couple of seconds as a quick fix for that.

Exactly what I have been doing. Lol. Hope you can solve this issue for the next FW update. Thanks Shanling! :)

This post is an official request to have a fucntion added to the player by which we can play an e-book (or podcast etc.), then leave the file and play another file, and then come back to the e-book and have the player remember the point in the file it last stopped at.

If this is already possible somehow please let me know how to do it. :)

Not possible on current HiBy software, not sure if there even is any portable player, not running android, that would do this.

Anyone using Periodic Audio Be's with the M2s? How is the combo?
I am, and the combination is really good and very pleasing, listenable, and enjoyable.

That said, I do feel there is more to get out of the Be than the M2s brings out; it's worthy of a higher-end DAP (or an external amp). But it's nonetheless quite good with M2s.

Edit: after an evening of listening with an external amp attached (an out of production pocket amp that's similar sounding to a Mini3), I definitely think the Be benefits from a stronger drive than the M2s provides. But it still sounds nice from the M2s alone.

Wanted to let everyone know that the software was emailed to me, and by using it, I was able to update my M2s to the v1.1 firmware.

Thanks to Shanling Customer Service & Engineering!

Hello, I just happened to have this same exact problem and was wondering if there was a way I could also get a fix? I am having trouble updating from version 1.20. I have tried different sd cards, reseting, different versions and all the M2s does is reset and not update. Thank you.

It was problem on early Firmware units, please download this cloner tool and follow the instructions to install 3.0 on your player: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u7cpPWqxjybnGj3WYzj9S3PoGKJz2TPw/view?usp=sharing
