Sometimes with certain pairing the high impedance work nicely. But I agree lower is better. 2 ohm is safe, sometimes too low can cause issues, like calyx M.

As a point of reference, are you always using IEMs every time?
Yeah, @Hidizs needs to get on the ball and release some updates!
And yes, I yearn for two slots so I can keep my FLAC collection on my DAP. 256GB gives me just enough space. Constraining myself to one 128GB card means I have to prune my collection or go lossy - one or the other. I typically choose lossy.
Right now, I've got three 128GB card. One is my lossy collection, and the other two have my FLAC collection.
I just wish the M2 had a lower output impedance.12 Ohms is a little too high, IMO, especially for multi-driver IEMs. Some of those have below 10 Ohm impedances.
Maybe the next version can have a switch that allows the user to be able to select between a 'High' (12 Ohms) and 'Low' (1 Ohm) output impedance.
Otherwise, I love the design and aesthetics of the M2. Great job, Shanling!
Why not use Full SDXC cards with a microSD to SD converter?
I use one on my Sony NWZ-A17 and it works no problem

Pretty sure this would work on any player that supports microSD right now (be it FiiO, Ibasso, etc.).
I think he actually updated the numbers (7.7 Ohm... still a bit high but, you know... ).
Questions:
- I'm not sure I saw it but, any information regarding battery life?!?
- Can you shuffle play ALL the media library? (i.e. does the player create a "database" like most other players and can you shuffle play "All artists" or "All Files", etc.)
Player looks good, it seems to be priced right.
Thanks.
Good point @gelocks. I've seen those in use with Fiio and iBasso DAPs. Some of them seem finicky and lose the connection. That and strapping it down securely seem like the two biggest reasons I haven't done it. Since it seems like you've got one that maintains a solid connection, I'll have to give it a try.
From conversations I've had with Shanling, the higher than typical impedance is intentional and helps aid in achieving their intended voicing for the M2. I'm sure @Shanling will correct me if I'm wrong on that.
M3's battery life was comparable to my Fiio X5. I'm betting M2 will be similar, but it's a great question. @Shanling?
Shanling DAPs do have a db scan feature, and it's pretty fast. I'm an album listener and have a very organized folder structure, so I tend to just listen via Folder Browsing. Definitely not a shuffle kind of guy. However, I'm getting the review M3 back for a bit before it heads up to Canada. If @Shanling doesn't answer this question before I get it, I'll check to see whether Shuffle All is supported and check back in here. However, M2 looks like it'll have improved GUI, so even if M3 doesn't support it M2 might.
Cheers,
Nikolaus
@gelocks: Can I get a link to the mSD -> SD adapter you're using?
I gotta get one of those things myself. It should sandwich nicely between my x3 and e12a.

Just read through tbe thread and the high output impedance is scary even though im using fitears, hope they sound as great as they look
Well, since Suyama-san of fitears uses Shanling DAPs, I'd say you're probably safe
