Shanling M2 DAP

DAC is only part of the audio signal path, though. I've heard the M3, so I've got a feel for their house sound. I recently got to hear FitEar TG-334, which are one of the IEM Shanling's using to tune it. It has a very smooth, organic sound. FitEar's owner uses Shanling DAPs. There's a pattern there

Your human half is showing.

Thanks for recommending Shenzhenaudio via the experiences of others.  They've apparently shipped me something internationally in a mere seven days.

The conclusion from @nmatheis is very accurate.

M2 is positioning lower than M3, with smaller driving power.

But as a new generation product, it improves a lot on the manipulation, size control, circuit design, screen, etc. We call it a mature product.

Power is not everything. While M3 drives HD600 far better than my lotoo PAW Gold however I think what is more important is how it is tuned. I look forward to hearing the M2 and seen how it has matured.

Excited about giving the M2 a listen some time. Am due for the M3 on the tour @nmatheis organized (so will get to hear the famous Shanling "house sound" for the first time then), but like the size of the M2.

I just wish the M2 had a lower output impedance.

12 Ohms is a little too high, IMO, especially for multi-driver IEMs.  Some of those have below 10 Ohm impedances.

Maybe the next version can have a switch that allows the user to be able to select between a 'High' (12 Ohms) and 'Low' (1 Ohm) output impedance.

Otherwise, I love the design and aesthetics of the M2.  Great job, Shanling!
