In your example, the RU6, being the DAC, is doing the over-sampling in order to execute its digital filters. You also have the no-oversampling option on the RU6, which many, including yours truly, prefer the sound of.

Yep, I use Cayin RU6 NOS with UAPP upsample. The OS mode in RU6 sounds glary/noise with Android UAPP. But I read somewhere it is because android can't deliver the needed power or maybe the processor itself not capable. Or maybe both? Time will tell if I choose M1S, will update here if any difference occur...

Also with Android UAPP it somehow have hidden "gain" when I press to the max volume and keep press it several times and it does affect the power and transient. Not to mention the position of volume in media player, ringtone, bluetooth all have impact on the sound. Thats why I look for transport device than dealing with these hidden variable on Android's UAPP

If the M1S is anything like my Q1, it will make a fine digital transport to the RU6

Hello, does M1S has upsample feature like in android's UAPP? I plan to use M1S as transport for my Cayin RU6 at my jogging session

I look for upsample because I feel somehow more energetic when listening to upsampling music while jogging
No upsampling function on M1s.

No upsampling function on M1s.
Is there any work around to maximize the PCM 32bit/768khz and DSD 512 capabilities?

Bought the M1s as a transport and the OS mode in Cayin RU6 works better with it than using UAPP with Cayin RU6 OS mode. Sadly I prefer the sound of UAPP upsample with Cayin RU6 NOS mode.. If there is any way to do upsample on M1s that would be great

You could try some softwares that upsample or convert your files on computer(I remember at one time everybody was converting everything to DSD Files) and then use them on M1s.

There is no upsampling function on M1s.

Anyone selling their m1s?:) got myself hiby r3II but im dissapointed with its scroll-volume-knob, quality of it isnt there. And despite odd button placcement of m1s its probably better for a pocket use- to change songs without taking player out of the pocket. if anyones wants to trade, im in for it. if not probably will sell hiby at one point.

Edit. Just went ahead and ordered m1s, gonna compare and sell one of them. I do like all else about the hiby r3II just the volume knob is huge downer for my taste.

I try to connect M1s (having the last OTA firmware) (as Bluetooth receiver) with Xiaomi 13T Pro (BT 5.4) phone, and it's Ok. Also Eddict Player (2.2.1) as SyncLink controller does see M1s without problems. But if I try to add M1s as Bluetooth device to My Devices, Eddict Player doesn't find it (as well as any other Bluetooth devices around). I have tried to unlink phone and player and try with Eddict Player again without any success (and yes, SyncLink switch is off on the player while adding to My Devices).

@Shanling , will you, please, help to resolve the issue?

Do you mean the "My Device" menu in Eddict Player app? That has nothing to do with M1s, that's there mainly for big streamers and UP models.

Eddict Player app works with M1s only over SyncLink.

So how is the comparison?

well i sold the hiby. i prefer m1s much more. scoller is way better, sound quality is more forgiving on hiby on lower quality files i think. on m1s you really feel bad quality files but then again HQ files are giving a more higher end dap feeling too. odd button layout is ideal for me.
Sounds Like an old Slogan: buy cheap buy twice xd
