Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Is there any chance of the M0 working in USB DAC mode in Windows 10 without a driver? Apparently it does for Mac and Linux. Have a use case now where this would simplify my setup at work (where I don't have admin rights on the system).

Windows 10 now includes a basic USB audio driver.
On the Win10 PC at my job, where I don't have Admin privileges to install things like drivers, I can use my various DAPs in USB DAC mode - without any issues.

Interesting... it'll be worth a shot. I tested at home with a Win 10 laptop (up to date) that I hadn't installed Shanling's driver on, and it didn't register as an audio device at all.

Is there any way to “decompile” and recompile the FW? I love the M0, I got it this week, but I am not very happy with the graphics of the OS (not a big deal, but still). I have done it for my FIIO X3ii and would like to modify the FW just for the graphics.

Anyone know if there is a limit to how many tracks can be indexed in the database on the M0 or other Shanling models? My Fiio M5 is theoretically unlimited, but gets progressively slower in category selection of titles the more tracks you have (I notice the slow down in response once you get above 15,000). I know my R3 and my Cowon D2 are limited in number of tracks, but that limit is shown in the owner's manual. Can't find any info on limits in the Shanling manual or specs.

I believe it’s 20,000.

There is 20 000 file limit.

If you have more files, you would need to use folder browsing (which is unlimited).

Thank you for the information. In folder browsing, if I have a folder for an Artist, and then each album is in a subfolder below the Artist folder, is it possible to shuffle play all songs in the album folders (so that I can shuffle play all songs from that artist)?

Hello everyone, I have noticed that my player will show a playback error and skip the track if I'm trying to play an OGG file with a large embedded album art (I think over 1000x1000). The file will play normally if I remove the embedded picture. The weird thing is that the picture is displayed normally and there is no playback error if it is embedded in a FLAC file (I didn't test other formats), or placed in the folder as an image file.

Not possible to shuffle songs from multiple folders.

Can you please send us one or two files with this issue for testing?

I noticed that there seems to only be support for separate .lrc files for lyrics. Is there a chance of adding embed lyric support?
I could swear it used to support them but now it just says "Life is short. Play more". How odd.

Not likely to be added.
