Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Received mine yesterday. Loving the little thing! Just one little suggestion for future firmware would be to add a play all to the artist section so if you have multiple cds it will play through them all. If it has it already how do we do it? Lol

Hmm, seems our software team put some English words in the wrong place. In each artist you now have "Unknown comp.", that's mistake, it should be "open all".
To follow up CDs, will see if we can implement it under "folder skip".

Already try DSD64 (DOP) with Chord Hugo + OTG cable. Still stuttering. Try with D2P mode also. I can hear clicking noise in a song.
So, is M0 not good for DSD + USB DAC?

As I said, I tested it yesterday with iFI iDSD and it worked great.
Today I will try to find our unit of Mojo and test it.

Had mine { black} for a few days now.....thanks to hifiheadphones here in uk for excellent next day delivery!
Sound is amazing - especially considering size and price. Am slowly getting used to navigating around the touchscreen. Was tending to "overshoot" on the main options screen when scrolling left and right. { FW 1.5} but now realised just a slight thumb touch to L/R does it. Still having difficulty getting the 2nd and 3rd pages of now playing screens to appear. Does the left scroll work best in one particular place on the screen - because lower down there is the complication of moving back in the track playing instead of going back a screen?
My 2 minor negatives were firstly changing the language from chinese to english { having to guess/trial and error that I needed setting option no. 14 of 18. Secondly I havent been able to connect via ldac to 2 sony phones { MDR 1ABT and 800BT} My BLU100 and 200 connected fine using aptx and i am very happy with the sound with those. Other wired phones are good too.

Main menu speed, always tricky to set it just right. On previous version, where quicker and big movements were preferable, we got people taking the M0, making super slow and short movements and then complaining online, how bad it is. So we changed it, to be more sensitive, more intuitive for first time users.

On playback controls, for me works best to swipe somewhere little above middle, where text meets controls.

Not sure why your unit was in Chinese, before shipment they are reset and on first turn on, the language setting will appear.

Can you tell me mroe about your problems with SOny headphones? We have been testing M0's LDAC with multiple Sony models and all works great. Can you maybe try to use lower quality of LDAC first?

Am I correct in thinking that if I send Tidal offline files to the M0 from my iPhone, they will be sent by SBC with a drop in SQ?

Currently it's just SBC. We have AAC planned for the second firmware update.

Hi, after 2 weeks, my m0 can't be started up. It just display the shanling logo and right back off. My seller said it's due to corrupted framework (doh!) As I can access the memory card by plugging it into my pc. Is there tool to flash the firmware?

Does it show same behavior even when you remove card?
Does this happened after you updated from firmware 1.0 to 1.5 by any chance?

There is tool to flash firmware, but to get M0 into needed mode, you would need to open the screen first...

I have mine pre-installed with 1.5 when I unboxed m0, so I have no idea. Yes, the behavior is the same either card in or out. So are you saying mine bricked @Shanling?

Looks like so, strange that it seems it happened out of nowhere.

Please contact your seller for replacement unit.

Purple MO and case arrived today. Luckily, in my area no signature required. Mail woman left it in box. Worked out great since I had an appointment in another city.

Basic play operations are very straight forward. Don't have any problems with screen swipes. Stuck one of my loaded hi res 64gb Sandisk cards in and all plays well. Not sure how Sandisk cards are formatted, but MO is happy with it. Tried DSD and all is well.

MO is a well designed player. Excellent job Shanling. Wouldn't be surprised if this becomes your top selling dap.

Great idea. But maybe the clip case would be enough here if the M0 firmware allowed the screen to be rotated (like one could on the 6th gen Nano)? That way, you could clip it onto any wrist-band (right or left wrist).

I'm guessing they are already too far along in production to make this change, but I would 100% support this idea. I'm trying to replace my 6th gen nano with the M0. The proposed clip isn't going to cut it for me unfortunately.

What type of cable did you use to connect the M0 to the iDSD? I tried connecting mine to an iFI xDSD and I couldn't get it to work.

Some cheap USB OTG adapter into original cable of iDSD BL.

I got my M0 red few days ago. Simply amazing so small just like my iWatch. Got the original case. But maybe due to my fat fingers...the volume is kinda difficult to scroll when inside the case. Also I try paired with my Apple AirPods the volume so soft till I cannot hear anything even at max volume. But headphone work fine through 3.5mm jack

Can I say first of all a big thanks to all who take the trouble to post - really good to hear all the useful comments, suggestions etc etc. A particular thank you to Shanling ( is it Frankie??) for responding quickly and fully - even if all problems cant be sorted immediately - or even sometimes are down to user ..... misunderstandings!?

I am still very very pleased with my M0. I can use good wired cans for "quiet" listening but switch to BLU100/200 bluetooth iems when on treadmill etc. These last phones paired up (aptx) first time no problem and are now listed as paired on the bluetooth page of the M0.

My ( minor to me) problem is that I cannot get two Sony headphones to pair at all. Firstly MDR 1ABT. I have tried all three "levels" of LDAC. I get the box with "scanning" appear.....but after about 2 or 3 seconds that box disappears. The same thing happens with Sony AS800BT. In this case LDAC isnt supported by the phones only aptx/sbc. I have tried those settings but again get the "scanning" box appear but then disappear without connecting. ( Both of these Sony phones pair up no problem with my Sony ZX100 and NW 30 players.....just the M0 seems to be reluctant to pair for me!)

Overall ( because of my other options/workrounds) this issue with pairing to Sony phones is no big deal at all, but of course might be a bigger issue for others. Once again - thanks to posters/shanling for the replies. Regards to all.

PS thanks to Shanling for the comments re touchscreen sensitivity. The Chinese language setting was fairly easily sortable tbh!!

APOLOGIES! APOLOGIES!!
My problem connecting Sony MDR 1ABT via LDAC to the M0 is MY FAULT for not going back and reading the phones manual closely enough!!! Sorry folks and Shanling!!

I thought switching the phones on ( and getting the flashing blue light) put them into pairing mode. WRONG!! You have to press FOR SEVEN SECONDS ( and wait for a fast flashing alternative blue and red light to be in original pairing mode. The M0 then pairs beautifully. Connected at LDAC/HD and the sound is great!!!

Apologies again to all. ( My previou post mentioned........user misunderstanding!!! DOH!!!! )
