Firmware v2.2 here you go!

Google drive download

Shanling M0 Firmware 2.2 notes

Changes and fixes:

1. Added Triple click shortcut, available in System settings
2. Added playback controls when using M0 in Bluetooth receiver mode, including double and triple click shortcuts
3. Added support of external m3u and m3u8 playlists
4. Added “Recently added” list in “My Music”
5. Fixed bug causing wrong song order in “My Music” browsing
6. Improved USB digital output

How to update:

1. Make sure that M0 is fully charged.
2. Unzip the file and copy “update.bin” file into root folder of micro SD card.
Note: If your M0 is on firmware 1.0 or 1.5, card must be formatted to FAT32. For update from firmware 2.0 and higher, you can use all cards.
3. Choose “System Update”in system settings and follow the displayed instructions. Wait until system restarts.
4. Check in settings “About M0” to be sure new firmware was installed.

Hey Shanling,

If I use my Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 charger to charge the M0 using your supplied cable, is that ok? Or is it too much power??

Oh I understand but, if you have done firmware updates previously then you may not need the update guide. The notes can be referenced afterwords online if needed or copy and pasted into notepad and saved separately. I was thinking purely about being able to download the firmware and use it without needing a separate program to uncompress it. As an example I may want to download it on a work computer but the computer does not have a decompression program installed and I may not be able to install software on that computer.

Would it make sense to offer both zipped and unzipped versions of the firmware?

I was uploading firmware quickly on Monday in last 5 minutes before my work ended. Next day direct link to update file was posted and you can find it on first page since then.

Firmware updated without problems.

@Shanling after the update this effect appeared on the file / folder names (it's a kind of nuance in the final part of the name)

It only shows on files with too long name, it's part of the "blurring". Will ask if it can be improved.

As in responding , as you are now.

There are several posts/questions I made to yourself and you did not tag a reply.
You certainly did to everyone else.
To me I see that as ignoring.

As for the wrong order. I think you need to advise everyone that the old database of music needs updating .
Soon as I updated my database the songs were in the correct order.

Thats from v2.1 to v2.2.

Every morning there is few pages with few dozens of post, so I apologize if I miss some. Also sometimes I don't reply because I don't have answer at that time.

As i said the problem exist on all files like this (1 flac file 1 cue sheet)

I informed you about this issue on July via p.m . if you look your pm you will find also the files you need

I want to know if this issue will be solved in future update or this is not your priority (as your priority is to release M5s and some IEMS)

Oh, tested it now, I see it only affects sorting in My Music, while it works just fine in folder view, correct?
I will report it and have it hopefully fixed in next firmware.

Also where can I provide translation fixes? Some things are really funny but should still be fixed

We were little bit rushing at the end with release of this firmware, so some translations were done roughly, without the checking of our distributors. It will be fixed on next firmware.
You can send me PM pointing out the wrong translations, thank you.

@Shanling
I seem to have some artists in artists view showing albums but no files.
If I look at the albums in albums view the files are there?

Please send me some file over PM to test it.

Hey Shanling,

If I use my Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 charger to charge the M0 using your supplied cable, is that ok? Or is it too much power??

M0 doesn't use quick charging from Qualcomm. So it depends if your charges goes with standard 5V 2A on non-compatible devices.

Does anybody know how to make playlist work, i think the update broke them. Im using m3udropper and the shanling m0 reads file not found when i try play a file in the playlist.

Do you mean the playlists in the system of the M0 or external playlists?
If external, please make sure they are not using absolute path.

Could you give me an example of one. In the new software i use there are options but they look the same.

You can open your m3u playlist in notepad and have check if it shows this way:

If you have playlist file in main folder and songs in folders under it, it should look like this:

Hi-res\flac 48k.flac

If you have one dedicated folder for playlists and all songs are in other folders, it should be like this:

..\Hi-res\flac 48k.flac

mine tried 2.2 official & working fine (replacement unit work like a charm)

also i want to ask, is shanling m0 can downgrade the fw?
want to try the custom fw 2.2, but if i encounter a problem, i can go back to 2.2... or even 2.1

It says: 3.6-6.5V/3A, 6.5-9V/2A, 9-12V/2A

So safe with this charger on M0, or no? lol
This is an RTFM problem.

What does your charger do when the user plugs in a non-Quick Charge compliant device?

As you haven't told us what the make and model of charger is, we cannot answer this question for you.
