Shanling M0 Pro - Ultra-Portable Hi-Fi Player, Now With Balanced Output!

Complete newbie here: I've never used 4.4mm balanced, but decided to get the cable for the M0 Pro, only now to realize I have nothing that goes with the 4.4mm adapter. I have the following headphones lying around (Bowers P9, Dali IO6, Audiotechnica M40X, Grado SR80). I assume I have to get a cable like this (see link underneath) now or is there a simple jack that does the trick to go from 3.5 to 4.4 (I somehow thought I could just plug the 3.5mm into the adapter...)?

Would that setup work / be worth it or is there another solution given my headphones?

Be careful when you buy a cable make sure it is 3.5TRRS (balanced) vs 3.5SE (unbalanced). You can get 3.5TRRS earphones, cables and adaptors from veclan.com , i love their products. You can buy 3.5 balanced earphones without the need of the adapter that work very nicely with the M0 pro. They also have an adapter 3.5 to 2.5 balanced

Hi All. I just got the iFi Audio Go Pod bluetooth earhooks and love the sound with LDAC on my A&K sr35 and FiR VxV. Bought them for covenience to use during our upcoming poolside holiday (but this sounds so good it will stay in the rotation after). Got me thinking…the sr35 has bluetooth 5.0….but so does the M0 pro, LDAC and other known perks as tiny, not expensive…. How is the battery life using LDAC and connection stability? Depending might buy one (I got a few other toys so DAC performance, sounds etc. Is of no interest for me).

4-pin 3.5mm TRRS is an old standard, not really used nowadays. M0 Pro uses 5-pin TRRRS, which allows for both the Single-Ended and balanced compatibility.

I don't think VE makes any 5-pin TRRRS cables.

Took the leather case off after just a few days of use. Using the GUI with the screen on was such an unpleasant experience. You can’t swipe freely, confidently and comfortably like my old M0 with a clip case. Other than that.. I’m loving it. Can’t wait to get the M0Pro clip case!

Ok thanks for the explanation. I understand that 5pin TRRRS is compatible both with 4 pin 3.5 TRRS and standard 3.5 unbalanced. The only thing you lose when you plug a 4 pin 3.5TRRS into and 5pin TRRRS jack is the unbalanced compatibility, right?

I accidentally dropped the M0 pro yesterday. Even with the leather case it got a little crack in the top glass side. But that not the bad part, the bad thing is that the 3.5 jack is useless now, playbacks stops as soon as I touch the cable or put the unit in my pocket. It only works now with USB or bluetooth audio =(

The drop wasn't that bad and I thought the player would be ok but I was wrong. I think the leather case adds very little protection for a player that is very fragile. For a unit that is supposed to be very portable that you can take anywhere there should be safer case protecting well all corners

@Shanling i just bought it, i can swipe to select menu as normal but cant swipe right to unlock screen or back to previous menu function (it only works rarely few times)

Can you send us video over PM or to info@shanling.com?

For swiping right, it's important to swipe from center of the screen, not edges.
