Finally, I have a remote! Will test it today!

It's been few month the unit is on the shelf

Just plugging it, and sound awful! The first 30 minutes, after sound open up and now as the perfect sound as I remember beautifully sounding!

But even with update software is a mess with my iPhone, but my android phone seems to like it more! And set up was easy!

Problem with Spotify for playing on edict, and didn't retest tidal, since I got another delay for my expiration date, thanks to doctor, I will try to enjoy life more and spend less time trying to make software work! And listen music more enjoying it than making hardware perfect!

Take care all, life is short, this was a bumpy ride, and love/hate machine, but I don't enough time left to wasting it on tweaking

Keep adjusting the i2s settings on Pontus II and/or the Shanling and look at the various pinouts to see what might work. DSD and PCM pins are on different parts of the connector.

I have a Pontus II as well (not a 12th, though) and setting 2 worked for me with stock settings on the ET3 but I always upscale dlna streaming, usb files and cd to dsd 512 and that gives me proper left right for dsd but didnt test pcm other than when I first had it.

Worst case scenario you may have to have one setting on the Pontus II for DSD and one for PCM but I am curious and will check into this when I'm home later tonight to see if 2 works for both and if not, try to see what combo of settings will work with both all the time without swapping settings.

I have the Shanling i2s cable and a fancy Monster Cobalt hdmi cable and they both work for me with DSD with this setting. I like the Shanling a little better, perhaps because it is a true i2s cable.
Is it possible to upscale all types of incoming signals, even bluetooth?

As far as I know USB output won't send an upscaled signal but I know for sure that CD, USB drives and DLNA inputs will send an upscaled signal over i2s and some of the other outputs.

Haven't tried bluetooth but I can probably give it a go tonight or Shanling can weigh in if Bluetooth can be upsampled.

Is Gramophone (the UK-based internet seller) the new US distributor for Shanling ET3? and SCD1.3? Will they offer warranty repair service in the US, or will units have to be shipped to the UK or China?
You can read full announcement on our new USA distributor and their dealers on our website:

Does the ET3 unit itself or the app let you adjust the volume balance control? Like adjust the digital audio out to fine tune one channel louder than the other for someone with slight imbalance hearing?

No, there is no such setting on ET3 or the app for it.

Some questions if I may... which are invariably operator errors on my behalf, but if you don't ask... so apologies in advance...

I'm running my ET3 via I2S to a Gustard R26 using a genuine Shanling I2S cable and simply want to use it as a CDT outputting the highest DSD resolution. I also have a Bodner clock attached to the Gustard DAC and the ET3 has the latest V1.7 firmware:

1. When I set the ET3 SRC to DSD512, I'm getting an audible clicking at idle and also in the silence between CD tracks. This happens at all DSD settings, so any suggestions as to why and how to stop this?

2. At the same SRC setting of DSD512, the Gustard DAC shows PCM352.8. If I change the SRC to DSD256, the DAC shows PCM176... is this correct or do I need to change a setting?

3. I get an audible glitch in sound around the 60min mark when playing CD's. I've seen this issue mentioned elsewhere, but other than upgrading the firmware, I can't see a definitive solution...

Thanks in advance folks...

Gustard I2S pinout is different from I2S pinout on ET3. You need to use a custom made cable, basic cables, such as Shanling L8, will not be able to work correctly with Gustard for DSD playback.

Much appreciated...off to find a source in the UK for a custom I2S cable...

It’s the only disturbance with my ET3.
Any thoughts about getting it fixed?
