Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

  Hi guys.. New here.

The wireless model seemed to me like a gift from god until I heard during the CNET review that you can't turn off the ANC.

Thing is, my ears are ultra-sensitive to ANC, specially noise-guard. I have a pair of MM 450-X, and I feel a strong amount of pressure when I switch ANC on, followed by a slight headache that lasts for nearly an hour!  I thought my unit was defective at first and was planning to send it back, but then I tried the Bose QC25 at a store, and I felt the same kind of pressure in my ears, only less intense, but still not tolerable.  I figured my ears just don't like ANC, so  if the momentums have that ON all the time, it's a deal breaker :frowning2:

Can someone confirm if it's true that you can't switch that off?

Thanks

edit: Just went through the user's guide. It seems ANC can only be off when it's wired, which defeats the purpose of buying the wireless version (atleast for me)

Still would love a confirmation from owners if that's true.

Quite simply put to those who have received them today.. If the £100 extra worth it for the noise cancellation system?

The Wireless/NC is a good ''deal'' to me. Great audio quality and the ability to walk away from my laptop with my music on. And STILL having the ability to put in a wire. The wire to wireless is almost instantly as well.
Noise cancelling works pretty well.

Seeing the NC adds hissing and can't be switched off while wireless, I will probably wait to see how the Momentum wireless compares to the Sony MDR-1ABT.

I might just go for the wired versions, for an extra £30 compared to the 1.0 sale seems the right thing to do.

However I read this and it sounds wrong on the CNET article..

...'I also have a review sample of the new Momentum M2, which lists for $350 or £270 (around AU$530) and also features active noise-cancellation. So we compared that new wired Momentum to the Momentum Wireless with a cable attached to it, and the two headphones sounded very similar'...

So have the wired versions got NC too? It's not on the online description.

You can't hear the hiss when they are in use. Only when there's nothing playing, which so I've read is quite normal for most ANC headphones. Even the kings of ANC (QC25) have a hiss.

The MDR-1ABT probably won't have any noise cancelling. Only a noise filtering function for making calls via the headphones. Hope I am wrong, of course.

No, they don't.
