I usually use qudelix 5K in balanced mode as I like the sound with it, but when I need more than 4 to 5 hours playing time I go unbalanced with only one proc... which gives me 6 to 8 hours with a small loss in sound quality.
Yeah would do that anyways then. Need more then 4hours quite often so its probably not worth the hustle with switching cables. Also imo balanced vs unbalanced doesnt make a difference if you have enough headroom and dont need to get close to max volume but thats on another page and not worth discussing here
Where are they in stock in UK and are Made in Germany? And for who is using them with the W2, do you use high gain or low? Do they compare at all in sound with full size headphones? Closed maybe?
Thought this might be useful for some folks. Unlike any other IEM I have ever used, I found the IE900 to work best with the small stock tips but only in the first position. However, they would always push into the second position.
I cut out a small piece of tips from an inexpensive wireless IEM (Sony XM4s) and placed them in the section between the base (position 2) and the first position. I then put on the small stock tips. Perfect positioning and perfect sound every single time. It’s the best IEM I’ve ever used.

For the IE900 I found it easier to buy proper tips with a longer tube (10mm) like Azla SednaEarfitLight and the 10mm long tube is also really large, so we get the full sound of the IE 900 drivers. So you just need to choose the proper large tips for your ear canal.

This is a very neat improvisation you have made! I think this might be the solution for guys that have problem with good seal on the stock tips. The tips sit shallow in ear canal so this will definitely help. Thank you brother!
I’ve not been on here in a while, and that’s the IE900s fault. I’ve personally found my current end game in these and I’ve had no reason to check in I suppose. Thought I’d enter the chat with a couple of ‘tips’ (excuse the pun) to realise the IE900s true potential, imo obvs.
1, use the smallest tip that manages a seal, even if it’s a different size in each ear.
2, insert as deep as possible.
I’ve tried every combo of fit (tips size/ position, insertion depth etc) several times over on different days, moods, times etc. including 3rd party tips.
For a while I really liked the medium stock silicone, but the more I’ve come to understand the IE900, I’ve found the small stock foam tips, pushed in as far the housing will allow, are near perfection for me in terms of SQ and comfort.
I honestly can’t find fault in the IE900, I’m not sure where it goes from here, I’m just enjoying the music like never before and I hope you all are too even if the IE900 isn’t it for you.
