Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread

so on the off chance that someone actually likes one of the tips that came with the IE80 (like the crazy shaped ones), where the heck do you order replacements from?

Also could someone confirm for me that the large single flange tips that came with the IE80 is the same height as the large double flange?  I got my tips all mixed up from like 5 different IEMs.  Thanks

Oh and one more thing - i stopped using the silver cable as I just couldnt get the connectors to stay on tightly - buds kept falling off and once I got home and there was a bud missing - luckily I found it in my car - but scared me enough to go back to the original cable even though the SQ was better with the silver - but you get used to it and dont notice if your not swapping out a lot

I lost an earpiece getting out of a car - didn't realise till the following day and found the rest of the headphones part-hanging out the car door with the jack on the inside. Sennheiser UK were brilliant and gave me a replacement FOC.

Are these the silver cables people are getting off of ebay?

i think they are the silver galaxy cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Advanced-Upgrade-Cable-for-SENNHEISER-IE8-Galaxy-silver-/120916313726?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item1c272c867e
i think the galaxy is the most popular because of their value

They are asking $119 and I want $79 for mine, it's like new.

Please don't give people the wrong idea. I really like the sound quality and build of this cable. But it doesn't have the same flexibility as the stock cable. This is why I'm selling mine.

Yep, it would be good to have this clarified. Frank @ Toxic says they're not his, so would be good to know where these are from.

The cables with the loose connectors, are indeed not mine, all my cables are tested on my own pair of IE80's before they go out.

You should hopefully get yours tomorrow or the following day, maybe you could confirm how you find the connection to be.

had the silver galaxy cable from ebay for about 2 weeks now. requested for zeroshoe to change to a right angle plug for an additional usd5. the connectors are actually very sturdy, pretty much like those on the stock cable. maybe he changed the connectors. the build quality is pretty good but it's definitely stiffer than the stock cable.
