is CMoy a good partner for the ie80 or there are other products more deserving for it?

I've had a special version, can't remember which exactly, but my experience was that the cmoy I had was too hissy for such a sensitive IEM.
maybe the generic type is fine IDK.

I think that they sound better than ie800 - I listened to both models and did not understand what ie800 is worth a lot of money!

i have owned the IE8, IE80 and IE800

imo the IE800 is better than the IE80 but only by a small margin. if the 80 is £200 then the 800 should not be priced more than £350, it does have better clarity and resolution over the 80 but nothing else better, the highs sound very strange and thin and the whole sound has a bad coherancy issue the bass mids and highs sound like three different brands all mushed together.

I'm not a audiophile but, I like the IE 80 with a replacement cable more than the IE 800. However, my ear tips do not fit and I had to get a custom eartip made for me, it improved the sound quality a lot. Secondly, it is possible to change the cable of the IE 800s. There are two ways, 1. is to replace the bottom half of the cable, 2. cut the cable near the "driver" and attach a connector option. You can then choose any cable you want. Option 1 n 2 aren't compatible with each other. IMO, after you change the cable, the IE 800 blows the IE 80 by miles. The biggest difference to me is that the soundstage is miles bigger than it was with the stock cable.

that maybe true but youre still stuck with the huge coherancy issue.
the IE800 is a great iem but not for £700, it sounds too unatural for me though. audience clapping for example sounds like a scrunched up foil packet.

Agree this. IE80 is smoother than 800. Did you try to drive 800 with Val. 2 at low gain?

Try it with Val 2 :)

i no longer have it, it got replaced with the superior pinnacle 1

also i dont think the valhalla 2 sounds good in low gain imo
