I'm sure you'll be stunned at what you've been missing. Get that ear unblocked ASAP!

Hmmm. I am looking for full-size cans and was wondering how the IE8s stack up. What is preferable about the IE8s? And I was thinking of getting the D2000s, or maybe D7000s.

I don't know if any of you are into deep house, but you have to listen to these tracks...

From P60 ft. Virag - Let the Sunshine
Terry Lee Brown Jr - In a Deep Session with The Timewriter

That's warmth!

You might want to get checked out.

Sadly, I am experiencing some issue on my right ear for the past few days and it has greatly affecting my productivity.

On the other hand, the higher-end your audio; the smaller the sound gets. Keep that in mind
when you compare the ibuds to IE8

I've been looking at the D2000's and D7000's on Headroom, and also possibly the HD800, once it is a little more reasonably priced. I just find the IE8's very dynamic and punchy. It has a good bottom end, which I miss a little with the K701, and yet it also has a wonderful midrange and a very satisfactory high end, which the K701 has, but the HD650 seems to lack (the "veil," I guess some folks call it). The IE8, to me, sounds like the best of the HD650 and the best of the K701 put together, with a little extra dynamics added.

I have never tried the IE8 so what is difference between IE8 and CX500? Specifically, the CX500 go as low as 17Hz but the IE8 go as low as 10Hz. How do they sound differently based on those two numbers?

The IE8 and CX500 aren't comparable, imo. I don't have the 500's, but their little brother the 400's which are supposedly close to if not identical outside of the volume slider. The IE8 is supposed to have a huge soundstage, good clarity, lots of bass and smooth vocals. I can tell you that my PFE's are many times better than my 400's, which I like even less than the Nuforce NE-7M's which I got for $50.

Okay but specifically the Frequency of the IE8 which dips as low as 10Hz and the CX500 only goes as low as 17Hz. What is the difference in sound when listening to 10Hz compared to 17Hz. I am not comparing the two phones. I just want to know the difference of sound between the two numbers.

The difference is not just the number, the cx500's cover the whole range with there signature bassy sound. In the IE8's the bass is so much stronger but so much more in the right places without shading the other instruments/vocals.

So you cannot just go by the number, the number does not show the quality of what you are getting.

Okay, I was just curious at the significance of IE8 being able to go a lower freq. than CX500 and how it would sound.

Hmm, I was actually going to get the HD650 since it compliments the IE8 rather well.

The phones you mention are fine and provide great sound (so I'm told), although they fall apart in the soundstage area. If you want extra bottom end and wider soundstage then I humbly suggest you take a look at the JVC DX1000 phones.

Guess my order went nice through.
I'm getting these soon. Hope they not very dark for my taste (even with 250 hours burn-in.)

With no listenlive code anymore european members should get them from mp3-player.de. great deal and they still have some in stock.
