I'm not aware there are price increases on HD800s, that's a lot of price increase ( $3k for HD800s ). It's still around $1500 on my country

3K? it seems insane, they cost 1850$ here in Sweden now, but we have terrible taxes, I bought mine for 1350$ during the Sennheiser annual sale along with a 10% coupon I got when I previously ordered pads for my HD600.I'm not aware there are price increases on HD800s, that's a lot of price increase ( $3k for HD800s ). They are great but they are not $3k great. So many people have bought them over the years that you can certainly find them for under $1k USD or get an HD8XX for even less. The price of Sennheiser HD800s in Singapore and Australia has increased a lot. I mean in Australia about many months ago I checked the price of a Sennheiser HD800s was about $2k but now up to $3k. That is a lot of money for the price right? I always wants to buy a HD800s to enjoy musics, games, movies but now the hope of buying one must be a little far away lol.

At the cost of a new HD800S I would look at the HE-1000SE. They have reduced the price. Best bang for the buck in Headfi right now.

HE1000SE is brighter than HD800S. It's got C tier on The Headphone Show video. At the cost of a new HD800S I would look at the HE-1000SE. They have reduced the price. Best bang for the buck in Headfi right now.
Hello,
I currently own two sets of headphones: Sennheiser HD650 and Hifiman HE400SE (non-stealth), and my amp/DAC is a FiiO K5 Pro. I'm thinking of treating myself and buying the 800S, but there's a question on my mind: will the FiiO K5 Pro allow me to exploit the 800S and will I get an upgrade feel from the gear I already own? Thanks for your replies

Sennheiser HD800s is very picky at audio equipments. I won't buy a Sennheiser HD800s to pair with a Fiio K5 Pro.Hello,

I think you would get an update feel as the HD800S is a fantastic headphone and will be a good upgrade from yuor current HPs if you ask me , but the Fiio may not do it full justice.Hello,

Got no idea on fiio, but tried hd800S on hugo, kinda meh. Then TT better, then with gsx mk2 best.. so the more quality dac and power the better. These are not th900 that takes little power.I think you would get an update feel as the HD800S is a fantastic headphone and will be a good upgrade from yuor current HPs if you ask me , but the Fiio may not do it full justice.

Try 800S with a musical dac and you will be blown away with GSX mk2 as the amp. I suspect your 800S is not quite liquid sounding right now; am I right?Got no idea on fiio, but tried hd800S on hugo, kinda meh. Can’t say it was wetter when it was purchased in 2015. Antipodes audio gave it a shot of musicality and as far as liquidity, I struck the sweet spot in the chord line up for price and musicality, not Sure how wet I want to get.Try 800S with a musical dac and you will be blown away with GSX mk2 as the amp. I don’t disagree with you on TT1 being the sweet spot within Chord in terms of musicality and price. For 800S you can probably do better with a comparably priced (used) Wadia dac (or if you want new the NewOntech dac7 can also get the job done) and an upgraded power supply for the gsx2 unit. Can’t say it was wetter when it was purchased in 2015.
