Where did you buy one?I owned and loved the La Figaro 339 with the 800S. I actually have a friend here in Ottawa who purchased the La Figaro 339 as well for use with the 800S.

Hey guys, I'm looking at an amp that would pair well with the 800 and S for about 1k CAD. What do you all think of the darkvoice as a tube possibility?
I have a darkvoice and running sylvania 6sn7gt/svetlana 6as7g.. I prefer my Valhalla 2. But I do want to get some ting sol tubes as I hear they sound pretty good..

Another option to consider at that price-point would be Cayin HA-1A MK 2.
Icon Audio HP8 MKII is very good with 800S too, £849 in it's most basic iteration , not sure how much it sells for in Canada

I'm looking at this. I can get it for 1500 plus tax and shipping from a dealer in Ontario. So the sound is good?Icon Audio HP8 MKII is very good with 800S too, £849 in it's most basic iteration , not sure how much it sells for in Canada

I got the connector from Amazon which cost me additional 15$.I would get this but I don't like the input connection.
This amp is not the last word in transparency.
But it is quite good after tube rolling.
How does it sound?
Fairly good but north of neutral , i could say borderline bright.
When i had the HD800S at the end didn't like it and returned it.
Mjolnir 2 was better for my tastes.
I bought this new for 1495 with shipping and tax. Looking forward to listening!Icon Audio HP8 MKII is very good with 800S too, £849 in it's most basic iteration , not sure how much it sells for in Canada

Awesome, looking forward to your impressions. Not sure which iteration you have ordered but on mine the stock 12AX7 was holding it back significantly so a little tube rolling will pay big dividents. You may have also read in the relevant thread that the capacitor upgrade is quite a big step up, I think you ll have a lot of fun with this amp.

Congratulation on your purchase of nice amp.I bought this new for 1495 with shipping and tax. Looking forward to listening!
Please give your opinion on it due time.
After listening to HD800s driven by Nobsound little amp for 2 hours on Beethoven Emperor Piano concerto and violin concerto, I am back to Stax 009s driven by KGSSV Carbon amp.
My source is Chord Dave and Mscaler fed by Cocktail Audio X30 music server.
Violin tone out of HD800s driven by Nobsound amp is pretty sweet and enjoyable.
But Stax system give much more nuanced details with transparent window clearly one league above HD800s driven by Nobsound little amp.
My Chord Dave and Msaler cost me 15k$ which give very refined sound.
Including odd connectors and RTC 5654 RT, the total cost of Nobasound amp is 80$.
With such high quality source, it may not make sense of using 80$ amp but it still works.

I have 336. It is a power monster but sq is so so.
I use tungsol5998 and rca5992 tubes.
A fuller and thicker sound than hdv800 amp but less resolution.
Bass texture is far to reach hdv800

I've had good results with an Xduoo TA-20 with Amperex Bugleboy valves. Beats my V281 for this headphone. The price is under CAD500 on eBay
