Just wondering, are there any HD 800 owners here experiencing an exacerbation in tinnitus/ear-ringing on a regular basis since getting the HD 800?

Why do you keep thinking it's related to the HD800?  Read the OSHA guidelines and regulate your SPL levels and duration.

Windsor, I just got tinnitus from when I received the LCD-2 a few days ago.. It seems very strange but the listening levels were the same with my HD800, it looks like the LCD-2 go higher at the those levels HD800 was at (and I wasn't aware of it). I think I am going to have some time off the headphones for this thing to go away, I'd recommend us both to stop using them for a while.

I wasn't suggesting that the ear-ringing was caused by the HD 800, but was just curious if other people on this thread had experienced ear-ringing in relation to the HD 800. If I had a reason to think that the ringing is related to the HD 800 it would be that that on the occasions I have infrequently used the HD 800, I have noticed ringing in my ears that wasn't as prominent/noticeable before the listening session...

Thanks for the OSHA pointer.

There's more sonic heft with the darker-sounding LCD-2; the brighter-sounding HD 800 is a lighter-sounding listen. I'll give my ears a rest from listening when I've finished writing the article that I'm in the process of writing. Happy healthy hearing to all who read this!

I am looking for a aftermarket cable for my HD 800. Can people tell me which is better the Black Dragon v2 or the Cardas?
Which Cardas cable do you mean?

I only get ringing / tinnitus when I set the volume too high. Since I never do that, I never get my ears ringing, regardless of the pair of headphones. I doubt one specific pair of headphone can induce ringing substantially more than another.

go with the cardas!

I love the Black Dragon. First I tried the 1/4-inch-connector one, and *really* liked it, making the highs much nicer and sweet and liquid and the bass more controlled and transparent.
Then I got the XLR version with Furutech Rhodium XLR plugs. even better. I would definitely get the Moon BD. I've mentioned this before.

mine r 05463 and I got them a lil over a year and a half ago...

Mine's #595 - the golden period of HD800 production when the cream of Senn engineers produced headphones of unrivaled balance and workmanship. Pre-#500 HD800s are now regarded with the same awe as 1959 Fender guitars or 1961 Bordeaux.

Honestly, all of them are high-purity copper. They'll sound very similar (speaking from experience).

You might think whatever you want but the versions after 12xxx have no sibilance and treble spikes
