Quick review:
I really like these headphones, they're the first sennheiser headphones I've tried and IMO, they are worth it for the price, especially for how much I payed for them. Comparing these to my final audio sonorous vi, the hd660s sounds much more natural. I guess that's because of the open back vs closed back.

You are the lucky one first and the best in my opinion Senn headphone . For me it was after 8 Sennheiser headphones in ear on ear and over ear that HD660S are my favorites.
Truth is that there are 3 more Senns that I really like for other reasons HD599 for gaming soundstage and mid bass, Momentum over ear for build quality , and HD 650 for smoothness vail on some bad recordings . ( I never had HD800S ) that some people love and others not .

Yeah, I think that after the hd660s, I'm gonna save up for the hd800s. That's what I like about sennheiser, you cant go wrong with any of their headphones

Something that a lot of Premium Headphones dont have are the Drivers matching , I saw so many graphs and measurements showing mismatch on other brands . All HD 6 series that I saw graphs both drivers sound the same ( maybe most people hearing dont hear that) and thats really good quality control .

I know how you feel (I own 4 Sennheisers), but I really counsel you to demo the 800S first. It really is quite different. See if it's to your taste without taking the financial hit.

I would do that but I dont really know any places to demo the hd800s. Are the hd800s a common thing that stores let people try? I'm pretty new to headphones and I haven't demoed anything in stores before.

I have the same problem , HD800S are very expensive 1.600 euros , if they was at 500-800 price yeah I would buy them without demo . I never understand these prices on every headphone over 1.000 euros .

Amazing i have 2 questions how do u feel about these fenestrated pads and if the cable is soft and didn't have memory of the shape u have it. Thanks

I like the fenestrated pads. I feel like they add a bit more fine detail and finesse to the sound. It’s hard to put my finger on it, but I tried the stock pads again they just sounded dull. You’ll have to see if they work for your ears though. Re the cable, it’s got a bit of memory to it, but i tend to bundle my cable when i put my headphones in a case after use.

So the fenestrated pads give the HD660S a treble peak, finally a treble peak or boost! That is exactly not what I want from a headphone, sorry.

I don’t think that’s what I said at all. This definitely hasn’t been my exp. They don’t give the 660s a treble peak to my ears
