Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Guys, I did something really stupid. :frowning2: I accidentally tore the wiring on the driver when I was taking it apart to clean out the right ear/re-adjust it. Is there any way to quickly fix this? Would I have to get a replacement driver? I figure I'll probably have to send it in to Sennheiser...

If you want to send me the driver, I'll have a go at fixing it. I'd snip out any remaining wire and replace with some fine gauge wire between the transducer contact points and the female jack. Probably easier said than done, but worth a try. Enamel-coated wire is the devil.

This is the beauty of headfi in this one simple gesture.

That would be great.

I talked earlier today with the guy who sold me the HD650 and when he said they were like new, he really meant it! They smell like new and have less than 10 hours on them! And instead of the retail price of 470€, I paid 200€!
Loving the mellow sound!

Just a quick question, I have tried looking everywhere, in the manual, and online and I cannot seem to find the answer. Does anyone know what size the drivers are in the HD650's?

I have just finished building a Bottlehead S.E.X. amp and i feel like i am hearing my HD650's for the first time, any inclination of veil or lack of authority has been banished once and for all, they really have come alive paired with this amp.  I think i am falling in love with them all over again

NEED HELP!!

Today, while listening to some Dubstep tracks on my HD650, I happened to raise the volume quite a bit (was in mood for some bass attack!)...and what I heard made my heart skip a beat!
My left driver seemed to be fluttering on low frequencies. It was unmistakable, as the right driver seemed just fine pumping out bass.

Could someone please tell me what's wrong with my HD650? Has the left driver been damaged?
