I find the coherence and polite tone of your posts refreshing. You're old school. Don't dumb it down for the uncouth masses.

Agree.  Classy.

It does remind me of Hey Ya, Very Best a little but oh my god that is annoying, this isn't.

I showed up to say I got my Vader Paradox, and the Paradox are sure to be a favorite among HD650 lovers.  It's from the same music first school of thought.

The Torii is not a HP amp, but the CSP2+ is amazing with the HD650's and the Taboo is great with Planer HP's....

I've been listening to my DT880s all week, love their sound... but it's HD650 for Christmas Eve! You just can't beat the warm, comforting, lush sound.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I never felt wowed by my dt880's.. I dont know why the music sounded good, but as you said about the hd650 ^.

Same here!  I bought the Premium(600 ohms, ~$350) and returned it after 10 days.  To me, IMO, sounds like artificial( no soul, just dynamically loud as you increase SPL) compared to the HD650 and LCD2.  I used Bifrost DAC, and LDMKIV/Lyr amps.  Reminds me of SS amp/preamp( Plinius and ARC LS12) and Paradigm Studio 60 V2 I used to have.

I've had my DT880 - 600 ohms a bit less than a week, and I'm trying to figure out if I should keep them or return them .... my price point was $241, though.   With the right material, they sound pretty good .... the only problem is that same material sounds so much better through the HD600 or HE-500 .....

If you're not completely happy with them, don't see why you should keep them. Weigh the pros and cons, and how much you see yourself using them.

So yeah, I put my DT880s back on after something like 20 minutes with the HD650s. The Beyers are just soo crisp, so quick, and the mids are quite good compared to the 250ohm. They are just a cleaner, less punchy version of my HD650s. And they are more comfortable, less clampy. I just love the treble, rarely offensive/sibilant but sparkly and gorgeous. I love my HD650s but these are just wonderful. Now I remember why I loved my 250ohms, and these are better in every single way.

i honestly can say I had a compass back when I owned the dt880's and I was never impressed not with anything really... I sold them to a friend with the compass for like 250 dollars and I paid probably double that.

Hi HD-650fier, I am shortlisting a closed back headphones to compliment my HD-650 when I need isolation. Since we all like the HD-650, we should have similar taste on SQ.

So, what comes out in your mind immediately when you think of closed back?
