Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I know I'm opening myself up for another jab here lol, but my best sounding Yes stuff is on vinyl. If you don't have a turntable get the Steven Wilson remixes on blu-ray or DVD audio, they're really good too...

I agree with you completely. I have both the HD tracks and the Steve Wilson remixes. I find the Wilson stuff, especially on my HD650's a much richer experience and much more detailed.

If you have a turntable and are a big Yes fan, you flat out have to get the Friday Music 45 rpm The Yes Album. It is mind blowingly good. To my ears it does even the Steven Wilson remix pretty dirty.

Every time someone brings up vinyl you have a snotty comment. What's your story man? You on an anti-vinyl mission? If so, get a life man. Enjoy your digital files, and we'll enjoy our albums...

Only cause your answers to people are always the same,
Album X sounds good on digital, but it's always better on vinyl.
I had and collected vinyl for 40 years, till I ripped everything to digital cause I couldn't afford to replace hundreds of albums with CDs.
I found out in 1986 with my first Magnavox 560 that vinyl was gas light history and never bought a LP again
Just Drives me nuts when people give out bad advice on a very expensive hobby.
Bottom line, you just happen to be wrong.

Seriously pal? I've always said on my system it sounds better, and I've never tried to steer anyone in any direction, unlike you. And saying I'm wrong? For my personal opinion? Wow...

Is the HD598 different enough from the HD650 to use it as a gaming headphone when I'm not using the HD650 for music? Or would I be better off with something like the AD900x? For larger soundstage and positioning.

It's perhaps worth remembering that the Steven Wilson remixes are exactly that - remixes. If he does it well (and in my opinion he does) it's a lot better than just a (relatively) simple remaster.
