Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I think people just like the process rather than result here. I've personally tried rolling tubes in my X-CAN V3 with acclaimed Russian NOS (paid like $100) and heard no difference whatsoever.
Does my anecdotal experience prove anything? Not at all. Why would anyone else' do?

This is a false equivalence. The invalidity of your anecdotal evidence does not invalidate opposing anecdotal evidence.

Your claim that tubes make no difference and that people simply like the process, because it's 'cool', only tells us about you, not those who enjoy listening to OTL tube amps.

This thread is going in the wrong direction.

This thread is going in the wrong direction.

There is a fact about discussions. The more a thread develops, the greater the chance of the discussions heading away from the original topic.
See? We both just turned this into a micro debate about threads going in the "wrong" direction.
It's inevitable, unless we are forced to follow.

Never follow, always lead.

It's raining here.

Love rainy days....fire up the tubes, uncoil the custom cable...
Take a quick sniff at the pads, cocoon my head into the hd650 cupola...
Leftover wine in hand, take over Eiji Oue:)

Please do get back to the HD650s, I just thought that series of posts was quite rude and can never miss a chance to mention the Best Show on WFMU. Essential listening, no matter the headphones. I recommend 'Todd & The Audio Guru' for some audiophile laughs.

Sorry to have taken it further off-piste!

And again, this was not my original point. I apologize if I sounded rude or offended anyone, but this is not a DBT-free subforum and we're all free to express our opinions.
This discussion went downhill long time ago (it always does if it's not Sound Science) and I suggest putting it to an end.

And having said all that, I'm still genuinely interested in people's impressions with Valhalla 2 / HD650 !

It uses tubes so it will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Just as I was set on picking up a HD650 and Bottlehead Crack, Schiit comes along with a Valhalla 2...

Now I'll need to wait for comparisons!

I may get a Crack just for the fun of putting it together anyways...

Over the last two days I've switched back from my Forza cable to stock. I'm always concerned about "new toy syndrome" so I thought I'd revert back to see what I think. I'm confused.
