Both of these get very good reviews, except on test freaks the 380 is rated much higher. im wondering which to buy, im upgrading from the rubbish sony mdr v700 dj's. im going to use them in my laptop and will be using an amp i think. the only thing i care about is comfort which i would like, and obviously sound quality. i listen to a lot of varied music styles. cheers will

Sorry to tell you but sennheiser discontinued the HD555 and replaced it with the 558. But the sennheiser 558's are really nice and if you have a bigger budget then I would recommend upgrading to the hd600. The hd555 works unpowered but not the hd600.
