Very expensive and could not afford that setup, I wonder how do you save up.
Piece by piece, and build slowly over the years.

Thought I'd share these here, these are replacement rings for the hd540 and 250 line, unlike the foam discs that Sennheiser are selling( which are nothing like the originals) have no negative effects on sound quality. Sounds as if they are not there at all, let's all the frequencies through without any dampening and keeps hair and dust out even better than what Sennheiser are selling now.
Here's the link to them

Its amazing that with all your experience and gear now, you still have an appreciation for this little gem. XD

Yup...the HD250 is an amazing sounding headphone and I enjoy it as much as my Verite closed! Love that sub bass!

I have a custom cable maker looking into the correct connector type for this headphone. I know that the stock cable is holding it back some.

Unbranded Chinese cable. High quality but no brand.
Does this cable use the HD600/650/6xx connectors, do you know? Someone else tried these connectors and had to shave down the housing with a dremel to get it to fit

I personally love them the best with the timbre of the original steel cable.

@Monsterzero
It is still possible to get a similar steel cable, with the original Sennheiser HD 250/540 cup connectors - the HD25 SP original so called "heavy-duty cable", still sold by Sennheiser but rather hard to find - see attached link. This is a 3 meters long equally split y-shaped cable, unlike all the other HD25 models' cables which have "over the headband" not-equally split cables. They also have a 1.5 meter long new cable, also with the original HD 250/540 original cup connectors.

Hello, stock HD600 and HD500 series cable can fit as well. Even stock HD250 Linear 1 can fit 600 series headphone to my testing.
I appreciate the information guys. I have @skedra looking into it and hopefully he can build me a nice custom cable for my HD250s.

Two years on still I'm looking for a replacement of the flexible padded headband section which makes contact with your head for my 250 Linear II... any tips on where I might find one are appreciated:v:

No experience with them, but have you looked into the various ZMF pilot pads?
