Those ELA are nice looking. Would love to know if anyone has tried them too. I saw a pair on amazon for $30 which look nice and the few reviews it has are good. I don't care for the gold, but w/e, as long as they sound good and work right?

I have one that looks very similar, got it off ebay for $95 for a 3m length.  Doesn't kink link the stock and uses canare star quad cable.

Well. After having my mind , and heart dead set on getting the HD-800's , I've landed here. Scooped , up a pair of 700's , at an awesome price. After reading Mikes , journal , on Headphonia , I was sold. I'm making a move from the HD-650. Soundstage and details were the deciding factors. Now the eager wait for the 700's , to get here. Hopefully my theory with these cans , works , and keeps me from rolling anymore tubes. Lol

Just wanted to share something: if like me, you've always wanted to give the HD700 a boost by replacing the stock cable but am loathe to spend money on a cable with its own unique connectors, I managed to find the solution: I got Frank from Toxic Cables to make me adapters to use my Abyss cables for the HD700. And I'll say that the HD700 sounds awesome with the silver and copper venom. I'm just waiting for frank to make one for LCD Cables. :)

It's the one on the right.

I'll have my HD700s tomorrow. Will be looking for a longer, balanced cable and these seem like a good value. Lots of color options as well.

I think the O2 can be a little irritating with the HD700. You really need a warm SS or a tube amp to distort the treble a bit.

+1 ... this.

Anyone tried Asgard 2 with HD700?

Nope, but I'm using T1's with it, and it's a great combo. It's a slightly warm and full sounding amp and it works nicely with slightly bright and aggressive cans like HD700's or T1's are.

That sounds exactly what I'm looking for. I like the sound of the HD700 through my Yulong D100 mkII (warm, full, good bass weight) but it has a stepped volume pot without enough steps for me so looking at Asgard 2, NuForce HA-200 and Burson Soloist SL atm (want to move away from my tube amps to SS)

Asgard is a very nice amp for the money, it does all the basics right. It's got plenty of power (I'm using mine on low gain setting and barely ever have to go past 3 o'clock on the knob with T1's), it's totally silent even on high gain and on highest volume with low impedance headphones, has perfect channel balance throughout the entire volume pot range, has very low output impedance, sounds nice with all headphones because it has an unoffensive and likable sound character, can be used as a preamp and it's built like a tank. The only downsides to me are the on/off switch in the back and the fact that it gets quite warm. During hot summer days while running the T1's for a few hours it can get so hot I can barely change the volume because touching the knob for more than 2 seconds is painful. Other than that, you can't go wrong with it for that sort of money.

I was able to find the seller. They do look pretty cool. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=221647328564&alt=web
That's a good looking cable. Who's the maker?

Prices aren't that bad at all from this seller. Those HD700 connectors cost like $20 on their own. Plus individually sleeving and braiding all those wires takes a long time.

That was my thought - $90 for a 15' balanced cable in custom colors would be hard to do cheaper yourself. If I like the HD700s I'll gladly be the guinea pig on the cable.
