Audiogd dacs/amps worth checking out...starting at @299

Agree - but even the NFB-15.32 @ USD $235 is a wonderful dac/amp combo for the HD600.  To be honest, I can't always understand the hype train behind the Odac/O2 or Modi/Magni when the NFB-15.32 is essentially in the same bracket ....

yes yes i missed that $baby of the clan, i was recommended that before i went "balanced" ...
just had to,  before i am dull of hearing.

AudioGd dac/amps pair best with Kiwi lamb racks...n sauvignon blanc.

I bought a stunning USB cable, made the sound of a seinheisser from good to wow...3D.
It's taboo to mention such, cos I know some use coat hangers :p
(check my profile if u are feeling rich. )

Saug blanc n reisling I would auto reach out when it comes to kiwi wines...
got no impression on pinots in general, just know it's a wine u gobble down..lol.
Reds I go for cheap Shiraz on sale. :p

Is your Bifrost with uber analog upgrade? Btw, what schiit amp you ordered? I heard HD600 through Asgard and it sounds unappealing. There is just something not right with the combo, lukewarm and lifeless sound.  Lyr is better with HD600 but I guess you dont really need it for HD600.

I ended up canceling my order with schiit.  So, I never got to test out their equip.  My financial situation took a hit so I decided to test out something much cheaper, JDS Labs O2 amp and ODac.

Good choice. I love my HD 600s out of that setup.

I'm not a student I am an A/V Tech teacher at a high school. Teach radio, television, film, and sound design. Lucky that I get to work with Pro-tools!!! Audio engineering is fun and does make me listen to music in different ways sometimes. For me thought it’s still about the love of music!!!

So after way more than a decade I finally had to replace the original pads - they just couldn't resist another wash

Replaced the ear pads and the headband foam to boot. Now I got a "new" sound... and I'm so sorry the old ones are long on out of production. Need to adapt to the "new" sound as it changed quite a bit. I hope it's just the fact that they are brand new and keep to much of a distance from the drivers - lost imaging but more clear and lingering highs. I managed to salvage the driver foamies which are different and thinner also

Hi all I know this is a very old question, but should I go for Cadas upgrade cable or just buy a HD650 replacement cable? I have a fairly decent rig now so just looking for the next step. Can someone who upgraded their HD600 cable make a recommendation?

Depends on what kind of sound you're looking for. Since you have an "okay" rig i wouldn't advise spending money on a cable unless you have high end rig. Go for the hd650 cable or build a diy one.

The above are all my opinions and nothing but my opinions. Lol the great cable debate.

I got HD650 cable and I find myself preferring original cable to HD650 cable. The latter is just warmer and darker to me. It is quite cheap though, got around 20USD from Senn Asia. So, It won't hurt to try out anyway. No experience with cardas cable.
