Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I just got my hands on these but I have not really time to properly listen to them yet. Can't say anything comparing them to my 660s yet.
I need to put on my balanced cable and listen more critically but I just got another impressive headphone and I need to split the time between them , one of the sweetest problem I have in life currently no complaints at all...
But no matter what I am really happy getting these. A real classic.

I travelled back to my home country thinking I might have some time to critically listen quietly alone bringing with me also the elex.
I have listen only one hour with the HD600 and one hour + with the elex.
I like really both no surprise there. I wanted to change the cable for the HD600 but being super busy here I didn't manage even that.
The elex are impressive the HD600 having this naturalness that you can't find anywhere else.
I am saying all these because as it seems I am not going to report more impressions for the HD600 for the next few months because I am returning back to London soon and i do not have space to take anything with me.
I know is a great headphone and I also bought it to pass it later on to my kids.
As i said before, No complaints from my side at all, to have two new great headphones and then no time to listen them at all...

Yes that’s also confirmed on the fr response - they have more uppermids than lower mids, resulting in a thin midrangejust returned a pair of HD 600.

I’m not sure what you mean exactly by a ’thin midrange’ when referring to the HD600. I’ve owned a pair of HD600 since 2003 and the main reason I have is due to the excellence of its midrange which is amongst the very best in headphones regardless of price. Many respected HP reviewers such as the now retired Tyll Hertsens regularly praised the HD600 for its excellent midrange. In my personal experience, it’s midrange is anything but thin.Yes that’s also confirmed on the fr response - they have more uppermids than lower mids, resulting in a thin midrange

Nice. But parametric EQ fixes a lot of the timbre/FR issues of the 800 and LCD-4.Pretty cool post in regards to the 600:

Ever heard it on a OTL amp? My 600 does not sound as good on my Rag 1 or Bryston BHA-1 as on the BHC stock, BHCs, or XDUOO T-26 - all well cheaper.Sounds peachy on my mojo2

This take is laughable. In case you don't know you're attempting to hit the 600 squarely at it's strength.
