Does anyone know where to get a replacement head pad from the HD600s/HD650s? I want to get one for my HE-400...
Well, this thread sure died.
I've been waiting for my replacement HE-400s for about 2 weeks now, and for a while felt like I'd have to "deal with" my HD600s. I've read plenty of praise for them, no doubt, but part of me wishes I had just bought the HD650s. The HD600s really are great, don't get me wrong. I love them for female vocals, which were kind of lacking on the DT880s and HE-400s. But I find myself sometimes thinking "man, if these were my only headphones, I'd be kind of disappointed." Like I said, female vocals (Nadia Ali) are great with these, but some electronic music is a bit lacking, and rap/hip-hop leaves a bit to be desired. I like their laid-back signature for sure. Instrumental sounds great too. String instruments, like the cello are just great. You can feel the vibration and resonance of the sound. It's a great reproduction.
I really want to be an HD600 lover, but I feel like once I get my HE-400s the only time I'll wear them is when I want a warmer sound. The HE-400s are just so much more engaging and the bass is phenomenal. I have a feeling I'll end up selling the HD600s and getting some HD650s...

Or you get a second HE-400 after selling the HD600.
I have an 11+ year old HD580 in my possession. The headband pads have completely flattened and the inside foam cups are half gone.
I'm really liking it with the headband pad, much more comfortable than a newer HD600 I had a few years back. They have been really taken care of and the plastic and metal parts don't show much wear for being over 11 years old. I expect them to last many more years.
That's quite a long time. I'm glad you've enjoyed them for so long, but I would have definitely bought new ones by now.
