Compared to what?

Actually, that is a very good combo. There are many users that actually prefer the HD580 to the HD600/650.

Can't tell you too much though, don't own them.

Going by memory the HD580 is very, very close to the HD650. With the cardas cable it makes it that much better.

I'd have my memory checked if I were you. Might need a service.

The 580 is close to the 600. The 650 is a different animal entirely.

True. However, the 580's are available used all the time on the FS forums. Save yourself some money and buy used. I have bought 75% of my equipment here and have always been very satisfied and always saved a good amount of $. Especially with members who have a lot of feedback here, we take good care of our gear and many times it is indistinguishable from new.

For example:

etc.

Yes, the HD580s are long since discontinued. The HD600 replaced them.

I hear it does produce some very minute changes in the sound signature....i suppose it would be if the price is right.

I've no personal experience with it....but it sure looks good IMO!

i heard that it does to because the 600 grills have less harmonic resonance than the the hard plastic grills on the 580's

is it worth getting a alessandro m1?

You seem to be everywhere with this thread - from Sony to Sennheiser and now to Alessandro.
Wasn't this thread about the HD 580?
To answer your question - sure its worth it - which is the answer you'll likely get for any headphone you put after your words..."is it worth it..."
