Just gave Sennheiser Australia a call... They will be released here in about a month... He didn't know the date or the price yet .

I can be of service. Asked Sennheiser Australia on their Facebook page this afternoon, and here's their answer:

So for the time being at least, its an Apple only thing (haven't seen it on the Australian store online, so may only be available at their retail stores). Considering that the US has a RRP of $349, and Apple Italy sell them for 299 euros, ($380 AUD), that is a major rip-off. 

 No wonder people are buying online nowadays.

What! $539.... Oh man that is Way too much. I was thinking 400 - 420 or maximum 450.... But $539 is steep it is going for $350 in other places. I tried pre ordering on some sites but Sennheiser won't ship to Australia. Where could I buy them online for cheaper that would ship to Australia?

It's expensive in Australia because everything is expensive in Australia.
 
It's to do with shipping costs, import duty, etc. and not anyone trying to rip anyone off (other than the Government of course).

My local Apple Store in Bellevue didn't carry any Sennheiser headphones at all.  I asked them to check the back as well.

Just finished speaking to a US rep - release date was suppose to be sometime in May but there was a delay. At the moment the release date now is TBA, but in a couple of weeks they may have some answers.
