Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

@LAmitchell It's basically just sitting apart, not working. I haven't mustered up the energy to give it another go as it's insanely tedious to get the copper wires back in their copper tubes. Plus they don't stay in easily.

So yeah, basically broken Amperiors. :frowning2:

Wow, Pedro you are still on the fence with the AMPERIOR vs HD25 I-II...  that's AWESOME :)

You know what, I actually thought about getting both because I love them so much, but then the practical side of me right now is telling me to save the extra money for a totally different headphone.

Hi there mitchell :)
I had forgotten the amperior but this week i saw a great deal on a reconditioned one for 80 euros with 3 month warranty.
That had me thinking again... :p
If they at least had fuller bass (just a tiny bit) and slightly more controlled highs and if that difference was very noticeable (along with better confort) i would jump right away...
But if you say the are that similar... Meh... :-D

After rereading your post I gotta say that the Amperiors do all the things you just mentioned.

I second that. I have both, HD25-1 and Amperiors. So Pedro, just go for them. You will be satisfied.

The Amperiors are better than the HD-25. The stock steel cable on the HD-25 holds it back a lot, especially in terms of mid-range timbre. Just listen to violins and massed strings to see this- the HD-25 sounds thinner and more strident (there's a definite whining quality to the sound) while the Amperior has more naturalness and body.

That said, if you switch out the cable on the HD-25 to say, the HD650 stock copper cable, the differences are slight.

I am going for the amperiors than... :)
80 euros? Damn thats cheap.... even if i dont like them i can easily sell them for that money again...
How about the soundstage? I use the pleather pads on the hd25 and for me one of the hd25 flaws is that besides edm everything sounds too confinined.... sounds great of course but confined.... I know the amperiors will not be muuuuuch better in this regard, but at least it could sound a little bit less confined...

Yes i use the stock cable on the hd25.... i am no modder at all.... XD

Anyone ever compare Amperior to PSB M4U1? Looks good for a portable headphone.

Hi all... A couple of months ago I bought these used (no receipt) from a user and I notice the sound cutting out often, does anyone know if warranty is still valid withot a receipt? The box says two years guarantee and I doubt it's been two years.. I'm locate in Canada btw. Thanks

Hey guys I just ordered 2 sets of amperior's one is blue and the other is silver

My brother is getting the blue ones and recabling them with the silver oyaide replacement cable

I'm getting the silver and I plan on using them with a walkman f887, I want to switch the ear pads and the headband pads and the cable to the blue adidas setup, is this a good idea?

Thanks guys

Lamitchell are the amperior more prone to driver issues then the hd25s? I am asking this because in saw you video on how to fix the driver on youtube... On yhe coments some people seamed to have the same problem you did and now this last user from canada seems to have some issues as well....

Hey Pedro, It's not really a driver-issue, it's just a connection (a little spring) to the headphone cable...

But after plucking mine out and re-inserting it (like in the vide), I haven't had a problem...

I did have this problem on the HD25 as well as the Amperiors, and I do think it's kind of ridiculous on Sennheiser's part that this would even happen... I mean, I was letting a friend of mine listen to my headphones (trying to impress) and it just seemed so sad that his $20 sony's NEVER short out. But I guess that's the price ya pay when you have re-movable headphone cables.

But his only happens when you mess with the cables (pluging and unpluging)? What i mean is, if the cables remain untouched there should not be any issue?
