Yes, it has two different density's of foam and higher quality of foam than the Ear Zonk. In my opinion they are as good as the original.  Plus they are a tad higher than the originals which helps to keep your ears from touching the drivers.

The Ear Zonk L-Cush are Ear-Junk.  I  haven't tried their G-Cush.

As the proud owner of the fleasbaby X ccasper senngradobeyers, i highly highly recommend their work =) These babys sound as gorgeous as they look~ I actually sold my HD800s and listen to pretty much only these and my LCD2's nowadays (the senngradobeyers are on my head right now lol). Super super comfy, light, great soundstage and amaazing and textured bass, without recessing the vocals or the treble at all. Oh and fleasbaby hooked me up with black foam discs (taken from Superlux HD660) to protect the drivers. I also added the Lohb straps as well as some brass wheel collars to stablize the headband.

Glad you're liking them! cCasper (now @PETEREK) should get the bulk of the credit for his incredible build skills...

That was my biggest issue with the EarZonks...they used the same density of foam all the way through, and as a result felt and sounded different...glad to see there's an option for those outside the US that matches the Grado ones...

I think the credit is parceled out like this.

Cup maker                        25%
Cable maker                     15%
Drivers                              40%
Headband/earpads           15%
Headphone builder            5%

Nice...

Marblewood (what I made those out of) is a PITA by the way...super fibrous, had me constantly re-sharpening my chisels...not sure I'll make another pair out of it...

Looks nice though.
The Birds Eye Maple is great to work with, it seems like it has no pores, very smooth. Very easy to finish as it doesn't seem to drink in much....if any.... Varathane.

I've been using the PX-100ii for a couple weeks & I'm wondering about the importance of the plastic "shield" / encasement in front of the driver. Is it there only as protection from the ear- or is the weird shape of the inside for tuning? I ask because it seems to cover around 50% of the driver & my HD590's- along with what I've seen of other Sennheisers- do not block nearly as much.

I took them off and made adapters for the drivers and found a little more detail. Joedoe tested the adapters and didn't find much difference.
You do need something to protect the driver.

Could the reason for the additional detail be the close fit of the adapter vs. the single dab of hot glue in the plastic?

Hey all so I've been very interested in a SennGrado and I'm pretty much ready to start purchasing. I think I got my part's list together and I was wondering if anyone can confirm whether I have everything covered. I would also greatly appreciate it if compatibility could be confirmed as well for me.

Vivitar DJ headband http://www.amazon.com/Vivitar-Foldable-Headphones-Compact-Limited/dp/B00NIZ88GC/
To be decided full length woodie https://www.etsy.com/shop/YewWoodworks
PX 100-II drivers http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-100-II-Ear-Miniheadphone-Black/dp/B002VPDOH8 (Anyone know where I can find these cheaper? no luck on Craigslist.)
L Cush pads http://www.ebay.com/itm/L-Cush-Foam-Replacement-Cushion-For-Grado-SR-60i-80i-125i-225i-325i-Rs-Headphone-/261483385447

One thing I have no idea about is the cable itself. Does anyone have any recommended guides or a website to get an affordable cable?

Thanks in advance!

All perfect. The L-Cush, think about getting the Grado-brand ones from their Amazon shop or their website (they go by 4ourears). They have different foam densities layered up, and sound better to some ears.

For a cable, @PETEREK makes great stuff. I use him all the time.

I like the L-cush pads he's thinking of getting...they do have differing densities of foam. I think they are slightly higher than Grado's pads ...so there's less chance your ear touches the driver. The Grado pads are good also.
