I've been using the RX700's for a year and a half now, and I was wondering what options there are for under $200 USD.
I will be running this from a Asus Xonar DX without an amplifier. I may consider getting an amplifier later if it is necessary to do so.
I have looked at several 'phones and these seem to be popular:
Senn HD595
Senn HD 555
ATH M50
Denon 1100

I listen to all sorts of music and I need something that's decent for everything (music, movies, games, etc).
I have no preference for open or closed back. If the headphones fold, that would certainly be a plus.

Out of these, which would you recommend? If there are others (I'm sure there are) that I should look at, please suggest them.

Thanks in advance.

Some additional recomendations for ya:

AKG K 240, K 271

Audio-Technica ATH-A700, AD700

Beyerdynanmic DT 860, DT 770 32 Ohm, DT 880 32 Ohm

Grado SR125i, SR225i

Ultrasone HFi 580, HFi 680, HFi 780

Shure SRH 440, SRH 840

It's a lot of options sure, but half the fun is learning about the different brands while finding that right pair.  Happy hunting!

Thanks for the suggestions. The Beyerdynamic headphones seem to be too difficult to drive from sources without an amp, so I had already crossed those out of my list. I prefer circumaural headphones, so I took out the Grado's, although they seem to be great headphones. I've added the following to the list:

Shure SRH750 DJ

Phiaton MS 400

Senns HD448

I'm also open to open headphones, but I'm having a hard time deciding between a closed set and an open set. I'm going to be using this in a college dorm/library situation, but I also don't want to sacrifice sound quality. Right now, I use the JVC HA-RX700's at home and the HAS700 when I go out, which works pretty nicely. I definitely don't have the cash to buy two separate headphones. What do you all suggest?
Thanks.

Fret not, many closed headphones offer sound quality that is just as exceptional as their open conterparts.  By your preferences I would suggest a closed 'phone as your best option.  -

Shure SRH 440, SRH 840

Thanks, I've looked at everything pretty extensively.
The SRH840's looked good, but after hearing reports of them being uncomfortable and heavy, I've decided against those. The Ultrasone's seem to lack bass and have a brighter soudn which I suppose isn't what I'm looking for. Denon's 1100's seemed nice, but too bass heavy from what I've read.
Any suggestions on a balanced headphone that would be an upgrade to my HARX700's? Open or closed, it matters not.

Be sure to keep your RX700 until you hear your next cans, you don't know if you'll like your new cans or feels if it worth the money.

I had Creative Aurvana Live (essentially a Denon D1001) and Audio Technica AD900 before, yet still prefer RX700 over them (sold them now). I also have a chance to audition HD650, HD600, Beyer DT770/250 and Ultrasone HF2200, and while all of them were superb cans I still feels it isn't worth the extra penny over RX700.
