When I got my headphone amp I wanted to run it balanced. The budget was $1k. Previously I had pretty good results with a Kimber KCAG so when the opportunity came to buy one of their top of the line XLR interconnects in perfect condition for less than half of the retail price I didn't hesitate much. Maybe an overkill but absolutely no regrets. I probably wouldn't pay the full price but seriously doubt that I could find a better XLR cable for the same money.

I at one time compared the Chord 2QUte to the Yggy and felt the Yggy was better in every audio category( soundstage,etc)
And I felt the 2qute was a fine dac.

How about ygg with violectric v281. Demoed twice and it was stellar with hd800

I audition Ragnarok and Violectric v281 with Yggdrasil on 3 occasions and bought Ragnarok at the end. In my opinion, they are both very good amps but Ragnarok sounds better to me. Here's my impression on the 3rd and final day of audition.

very nice review! Made me want to check out Yggdrasil and ragnarok combo. Last time I did it with HD800 , I almost chopped my head off in pain.... man this combo is too bright for me...

I had a Cayin iDac-6 and just got a shiny new Black Gen 5 Yggdrasil... And man the microdetail on this thing just sounds effortless... Made me a believer in the differences between dacs.
