You can definitely check older posts... there's LOTS of info regarding rolling ! But yeah, I got my adapters from https://pulsetubestore.com/ great service! highly recommended!
From "my" perspective, it opened up a bit the soundstage. But I'll be honest. it's subtle. My equipment (or a combo with my ears), it won't resolve THAT well for me to be like a HUGE day to night difference.
From the aesthetics tho, I really like the brief "flash" when I turn on the amp.
My Valhalla II does double duty as a headphone amp and as a pre-amp in my stereo, so small sonic changes are really noticeable when listening through speakers.
I'd like to find a tube that's not too expensive, but sounds at least as good as the stock pre-amp tubes.
I've seen one or two people recommend the JJ gold pins, which may be worth a try, but $75 for two current production tubes is not much of a bargain.
Not interested in amplifires at all... Knock on wood! As far as I know, the flash helps with the heating up... not sure exactly the physics behind, but it does look cool and if that goes with a good sound... I cannot complain!

Hmmm, you'll need a one time adapter for those... but if you're into checking out "NOS", these guys are quite awesome for their price: https://www.thetubestore.com/rft-ecc81-12at7
• I highly recommend the RFT ECC81 (European classification of 12AT7) tubes.
• There are two variants: halo getters and foil getters. These are inside the tubes towards the top where the silvery plating is. They are as described. As wonderful as the ‘halo’ RFTs sound, the ‘foil’ RFTs are even better.
• I use (roll) / have used (rolled) the RFTs, with and without adapters, in a number of tube headphone amplifiers. See ‘signature’. Immensely musical sound from RFTs! Plus, the RFTs do not cost and .

Hey friends,
If you're using socket savers and if you need to stack them together, get some aluminum tape at the hardware store. It's used in HVAC systems, so handles heat very well!

Decided to jump head first into the hobby. After doing some research I ordered all my gear last night. Ill be listening to mostly classical and playing FPS games. Everything will be hooked up to my PC.
AMP: Schiit Valhalla 2
DAC: Schiit BiFrost 2
Headphones: Sennheiser 800S
After tons of researching I stumbled upon this thread about "rolling tubes", pages 95-110ish have been eye opening for me to say the least! I need a bit of help from any of yall that have experience with the CV455 or the CV4033.
The price difference between the 2 is huge. Money is not an issue but I don't want to be throwing away cash if the CV455 will sound just as good as the CV4033. What is yalls personal opinion on this? Which tube would you go for? Is there a noticeable difference between the 2? And lastly, I'm assuming I need an adapter for both?

I have both. And both are very good. I slightly prefer the CV455 - not just because I'm a cheapskate either. Although, because I'm a cheapskate, prefer the RFT ECC81 foil getter to either.
However, it's not for me to decide - you must try them all - that's the tube rolling rules. Personal audio sounds better in-person than on the internet.
