The best way to answer such a question would likely to be by A/B'ing the MJ1 and the MJ2+LISST's. If they sound close to each other then you could make the argument that the LISST are not unusually flat but rather are just neutral (as many on this thread have opined).
From my personal experience the LISST's are, in fact, simply a more neutral, arguably precise, sound than most tubes. The difference between tubes and LISST's just seems more pronounced because you can make the change in a matter of seconds, effectively allowing you to A/B before you forget the sound signature of either option.
If you are looking for a "swiss army knife" amp that will allow you the musicality most people desire for casual listening and the neutral tone required for critical listening then the LISST's would be a good investment.
