Found the FAQ on cartridge mounting I mentioned earlier. While I have heard differences in tone when adjusting VTA, I have to wonder if it's mostly with certain cartridges, and only when they're way off.

https://korfaudio.com/faq3
Great info, I use a laser level for VTA but I have the clear gauge as well.

As @Ripper2860 would say: "Happy Saturday" ... this is a delightful listen with my ZMF Bokeh Closed playing on a Vali 3 with a WE396A tube fed by Yggy A2...this combo is superb with acoustic jazz. Love me some muted trumpet.

Those Closed are nice aren’t they? As time marches by, my use-case for closed of their quality grows…

Yes, I have considered RCA connected twisted pair using Beldon 1800F. I've put off purchasing because from Blue Jeans the cables would be special order, and hence not returnable.
How about modifying the existing starquad cables (remove one RCA, replace with XLR) to tie cable shield braid and one phase (e.g. both blue wires) to RCA shell, both wht wires to RCA center on source end, and use 3 pin XLR on the load end (cable shield to pin 1, blue wires to pin 2, wht wires to pin 3) and eliminate the transformers [use balanced Tyr input and CMRR to reduce hum/buzz]. try one first, with cabling to 2nd tyr disconnected.

or buy stock “blue jeans aes” XLR cables from Amazon (offering free returns) and build short RCA to XLRM adapters to test out

No serious listening at this early hour. Coffee, bacon, eggs and Tidal daily discovery.

I'm always a fan of Old Peculiar on draught. I need to try the Askrig next time we are over. And it has Amarillo hops. If all goes to plan we will be there weekend after next.

Cheers
Old Peculier is my brother's all-time favourite beer.

Theakstons do brew some fine ales!

Wisconsin is, ahem, unique. It's the only state I've ever been in where one can buy both booze and a firearm in the same drive-through.

Wisconsin is great, I visit there about once a year for business reasons. They’re like an over-the-top American version of Finland, I feel.
Still haven’t managed to properly visit Chicago whilst there, but it’s definitely on my list during some visit. My boss also okayed a visit to our Houston facility the next time I’m over there.
I think it’s probably a chain store, but we visited a gigantic outdoors/hunting gear store somewhere between Illinois and Wisconsin the last time I was there. The store itself was huge and had enough guns to outfit a small army, but then it turns out it’s only a small part of a shopping mall, which housed an ice hockey rink among other things…

On to other things, last night a future head-fier was born. Hope to share this hobby with my son when he grows up.
