Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I had a 1967 Barracuda in "bright blue metallic" livery. 383 4 Barrell, 4 speed, positraction rear. No power steering, power brakes, power anything----but, fast as hell!
Your phrasing immediately took me to Deep Purple… Highway Star…. “Big fat tires and *everything*, I love her, I need her…”

When I read this I thought it said 'search' where you really wrote 'such'.

:beerchug:
JC
There are searchers and searchees, I made one item and suddenly I got multiple requests. It is just how it works for me.🤪 It also gave me a chance to make my wife’s pottery more well known.

Some of you were kind enough to enquire after me during my 3-month absence from Head-Fi and were kind enough to welcome me back upon my return. I have recovered enough to share with you what I have learned during my adventures.

1. The fruit of the Paw Paw Tree https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimina_triloba is considered a delicacy but contains a neurotoxin that can cause Nausea and Vomiting in susceptible individuals. The episodes can be severe and can last over 17 hours. It is important to rehydrate between episodes of nausea and vomiting with World Health Organization Oral Rehydration Fluid or you will be forced to the hospital for IV fluids. It is important to watch for lack of urine output. Once the vomiting stops, jaundice can set in, luckily this only lasts a few days. Even in nonsusceptible people, heavy consumption of the fruit can lead to early Parkinson's Disease.

2. Influenza and food poisoning together can present with symptoms similar to Norovirus, leading to a delay in diagnosis and treatment.

3. Influenza can flare asthma.

4. Doctors make the worst patients.

5. Self treatment of asthma and inappropriate avoidance of systemic steroids can lead to high intrathoracic pressure, causing decrease in cardiac output. This can lead to your spouse finding you passed out on the floor.

6. Subsequently awaking in the hospital with your spouse threatening you with certain death.

7. Self Loathing, when you realize that the low cardiac out led to mild rhabdomyolysis.

8. Systemic steroids can interfere with your sleep and make you lose muscle mass.

9. Recovery requires rest. A lot of it. 10 hours a night plus a 2 hour nap for about 2 weeks followed by 10 hours of sleep per night for 3 weeks

Hopefully everyone(me) will have learned something from all this.
Happy to see you're back on official "off planet" status here at Head-Fi. :)

Thanks for this. I really need to track down the heater currents for all of my tubes and make note of them. Would I be correct in assuming that all ECC88’s from all brands have the same heater current?
Yes. Any established tube type should have the same specs regardless of who manufactured it.

I agree.. Most are psycho, some are logical..
I spent a great deal of time working with large groups in order to get their impressions of what they heard or believed they heard. In my work I ended up doing workplace evaluations that used some very subjective terms like “attitude” or “cooperation” etc. It was not until grad school that a professor taught me that even the most subjective things could be measured. I tried to use that knowledge later on with audio as I worked with large groups.

Along with Sony. BTW I use a Phillis Dream Station and yes, it has had the recall service...
I would recommend that you and Old Road Toad replace your machines with ResMed units. That is what the sleep division of my University is recommending, even if you have to pay cash for them, if you can afford it.

I know ResMed fairly well, I worked with their people on a few projects. Extremely well made product. IU Health recommends them as well.

Not to unnecessarily confuse things, but a 6N1P has twice the heater current of a 6922. So if you're substituting a 6922 in a component that uses a 6N1P natively, no problem. But if your component uses a 6922 natively, then caution is due if you want to substitute a 6N1P (especially if pairs are involved). Be sure the component can handle the extra current. Just for reference, the 2C51, 396A, 6CC42 all have 300 milliamps of heater current and the 5670 and 6N3P have 350. The 6922, 6DJ8, and 12AU7 (when run at 6.3v) all have 300. The 6N1P is the outlier with 600 milliamps even though it is pin compatible with the 6922.
Ah, yes! But the quextion what needs clarificationalizing is...Which tube looks better?!:)

Mine is a ResMed AirCurve 10. I think it is constantly pumping air into me as per the overnight testing I pretty much do not breathe, sometimes for well over 3 minutes and never reach REM. That would explain a lot about me...:beerchug:

Actually, the plethora of posts was a bit overwhelming!
Happy news that you are ok. :) I have been missing your avatar as I scroll through the "plethora of posts"!

Plethora of posts. Very thoughtful and diplomatic. I think that "Plethora Of Posts" could be an elegant addition to the title of the Schiit Sine Wave. As in "Official Schiit Sine Wave Plethora Of Post Rating" :)

I did mention the Marsalis brothers (80's-now)... but Sumara Joy is awesome and some other suggestions from Quboz previously shared here.

Do you have anything to recommend?
Some of my "younger" favorites are Chris Potter, Brian Blade, Christian Scott, Esperanza Spalding, Samara Joy, Edward Simon, Avishai Cohen, Miho Hazama, Linda May Han Oh, Marcus Gilmore, Hiromi, Jon Batiste, Troy Andrews.
