Finnegan has always been partial to the ST shape, this is a power tube but there are some single triode 6SN7 equivalents they work fine in a Vali.😉

I had a 1967 Barracuda in "bright blue metallic" livery. 383 4 Barrell, 4 speed, positraction rear. No power steering, power brakes, power anything----but, fast as hell!
My Uncle Charlie had a 'Cuda. I do not remember the color but for some reason I recall there being an overhead console thingy. Other than his car the only thing I remember about that uncle was the he used to pick me up by the head. Yup. He'd sandwich my tiny head between his hands and just lift me over him. Of course this would make me laugh but my mother and my aunt (married to Uncle Charlie) would get real upset and finally my dad got him to stop by promising my uncle that if he did it again he would throw my uncle through a wall. HUZZAH!

That car was what we used to call "tits"!

Well this am we looked thru our meager tube stash...

Found this:

Looks like a 396 but its a CV4013....sounds very similar to my ears...

How cool! I've never had the opportunity to try any of the Swiss Ericsson tubes, but many of them are held in extremely high regard....with prices to match. I've seen their 33S30B (6SN7 equivalent) listed for over $2k per tube when they surface on Ebay (which isn't very often any more).

I need to learn how to post a photo as one of my brothers has cat that is a Fat Cat! Beaumont weighs in at 24+ lbs. With little "piano legs". He is a small planet and has no need to chase mice, lizards or any bug as once caught in his gravitational pull it is over! If you fall asleep and wake up in the dark but cannot get up it is likely that Beaumont is on your chest doing his bestest "Beaujölnir" impersonation.

A great cat.

My second car, $3300 used in 1967.
1966 427 with BIG Hollys and a 4.56 rear end
Top speed 103 mph.
But your dentures would come loose on acceleration,.
Ate those "cudas" all day long!
Drag Raced.
LOL!

I helped a buddy restore a Sunbeam Alpine , it was deceptively fast once we mounted a Ford 289 in it.🤪 It then became a Sunbeam Tiger.

“The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group's Sunbeam Alpine roadster, designed in part by American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby and produced from 1964 until 1967. Shelby had carried out a similar V8 conversion on the AC Cobra, and hoped to be offered the contract to produce the Tiger at his facility in the United States. Rootes decided instead to contract the assembly work to Jensen at West Bromwich in England, and pay Shelby a royalty on every car produced.” The Alpine set a land speed record of 156 mph at one point, without the larger engines.🤪

I should have invited you to our 6sn7 comparison, we had a few tubes in that price range as well as a couple considered priceless because they were one of a kind.

Second at age 18 !
First was a used 1965 Triumph TR4A with wooden walnut dash, soft top, and a Lear 8 Track Tape Deck!!

:>)
OK then. I'm officially jealous. Especially on the 8-track. 🤣

I got my first speeding ticket at age 17 in a well used TR6 I was test driving. Typical British Leyland of the day where none of the gauges worked, including the speedometer. 83mph in a 35mph zone. Yeah, my license was suspended for 30 days by the state, and another 30 days after that by the more harsh enforcer, my Dad. 🤣

Some of your panel might have considered that to be like inviting Cousin Eddie to a 5-star restaurant. "Who is this guy that likes $5 Fotons?" 🤣

I mean, come on. How did they expect you to know; your gauges didn't work!

I am in my early fourties. I've been driving cars for close to 25 years. I have one speeding ticket. 29kph in a 25kph zone, which is one kph above the x+3kph threshold below which they can't really write you a ticket. That was about 22 or 23 years ago. I'm still angry about it. F'ing Germans… 😒

And no, I don't drive like a grandma; grandmas drive like I do. 😏
