Not to unnecessarily confuse things, but a 6N1P has twice the heater current of a 6922. So if you're substituting a 6922 in a component that uses a 6N1P natively, no problem. But if your component uses a 6922 natively, then caution is due if you want to substitute a 6N1P (especially if pairs are involved). Be sure the component can handle the extra current. Just for reference, the 2C51, 396A, 6CC42 all have 300 milliamps of heater current and the 5670 and 6N3P have 350. The 6922, 6DJ8, and 12AU7 (when run at 6.3v) all have 300. The 6N1P is the outlier with 600 milliamps even though it is pin compatible with the 6922.Great info tonight! Lots of comments to snapshot and compile into a folder.

I agree.. Most are psycho, some are logical..That is very gracious of you, and I'll say the honor is certainly mutual. You are one of the few people I've met with a background (and faith) in objective measurement, but also willing to try for yourself before drawing a conclusion. I respect that. I believe that we can't measure everything we hear, but also believe there are psychological factors that affect what we think we hear. You have a knack for separating the two, and have even changed my viewpoint on some things along the way. So thanks for being you, and I'll quit now before we get yelled at to go get a room.

That is so much better than "plastered" ... oh wait, "plastered" is after a lot of drinksOMG you are making sense or I am a bit buttered from enjoying some fine bourbon. ( buttered is my favorite term for feeling the effects of a couple drinks)
