Wait, that would work for 12au7 for Freya N, but not that adapter for the Vali 2+, right? Or am I out of it...

I believe you would need this type https://www.ebay.com/itm/2014830188...4ZWcmhiRrq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Vali 2 OG and Vali 2+ both used a 6BQ7 (or 6N1P or 6922) natively, so you'd need a 12AU7 -> 6922 adapter. Vali 2++ and Vali 3 use a 6N3P natively, so you'd need a 12AU7 -> 5670 / 2C51 adapter. I don't have a Freya N, so not sure what stock tubes it uses. If a 6N3P, you'd need a 5670 adapter. If 6N1P / 6BQ7, then a 6922 adapter.

6N1P for the Freya N. So, if I wanted to use any of these Vali 3 tubes everyone's been talking about recently, I'd need a 6922 -> 6N1P adapter? Plus additional considerations like heater current and whatnot? These are all the variables that confuse the hell out of me. Lol

XLHead-Fi ? ...
@jonathan c is also someone I have the utmost respect for. His wit and use of language are something I picked up on very early, he is also very kind and generous. I never forget a favor and the man can be quite selfless. Then there is Sam, Ripper, Resnek, FLTWS, etc. it is a long list.😉

There it is, I clicked on 2++. This time I'm not blaming bourbon, but I do live in Colorado so maybe you can see the issue tonight...

No adapter needed to run 6922 in a Freya N. I use 6922, 6DJ8, 6N1P, 6N23P, etc in mine (and Folkvangr). Where you'll need adapters are for the 12A_7 tubes and 396A's.

Edit: these will give you flexibility to try several of the family... https://pulsetubestore.com/products...uction-base-9-pin-b9a-noval-not-made-in-china

So, if you ever pictured a (somewhat) tame Fugazi but with jazzy saxophone instead of hardcore vocals, well, you've envisioned this album, which is in fact the rhythm trio of Fugazi joined with saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. The combo of drums, bass, guitar, and sax works surprisingly well, with varying tempos and moods to suit most, well... moods.

No adapter needed to run 6922 in a Freya N. I use 6922, 6DJ8, 6N1P, 6N23P, etc in mine (and Folkvangr). Where you'll need adapters are for the 12A_7 tubes and 396A's.

+1 -- 6n1P is a Russian analog of 6922. No adapter needed.

An adapter is needed for Freya N when using 12AT/U7, or 2C51/WE 396A/5670, 6N3P...

Another weird (but def not the weirdest) way to go for 5670 in the Freya N is these suckers that ifi made, 5670s permanently affixed to 6922 adapters.

I may have a spare pair I could send you, perhaps in exchange for one of those fun looking OS Glencairn glasses 😉

BTW, hitting total wine tomorrow to get some bottles for some friends coming over for March madness. I think it's time I sample your wares!

Man, I really gotta learn all this Freya N tube lore. Thank you, Ripper! 🤘🏻

They're making it too easy for you. Your 6N1P is equivalent to 6DJ8, 6922, 7308, ECC88, E88CC, E188CC and don't forget CCA. All those designations are plug and play, no adapter needed for Freya N. There are a few more variations but those will get you started. It gets interesting when using adapters.

I'm sayin' hell yes to all of that! Those tubes look fun. Just let me know if you find them. :)
