Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hoping you continue to improve, and for clarification: is number 6 an oxymoron or a certainty? Asking obviously for someone/anyone else!
The exact quote was: If you do this again, I am going to kill you myself!

Now you can decode the meaning yourself. Let me know what you come up with.

Great info tonight! Lots of comments to snapshot and compile into a folder. 😀

Thanks, Moondog!

I use Microsoft OneNote to collect info-bits and I have a massive notebook full of info on many topics. The amount that I’ve snipped from just this forum alone is huge, and very, very, useful.

Not to unnecessarily confuse things, but a 6N1P has twice the heater current of a 6922. So if you're substituting a 6922 in a component that uses a 6N1P natively, no problem. But if your component uses a 6922 natively, then caution is due if you want to substitute a 6N1P (especially if pairs are involved). Be sure the component can handle the extra current. Just for reference, the 2C51, 396A, 6CC42 all have 300 milliamps of heater current and the 5670 and 6N3P have 350. The 6922, 6DJ8, and 12AU7 (when run at 6.3v) all have 300. The 6N1P is the outlier with 600 milliamps even though it is pin compatible with the 6922.

Thanks for this. I really need to track down the heater currents for all of my tubes and make note of them. Would I be correct in assuming that all ECC88’s from all brands have the same heater current?

From 2023:
Sean Mason, Southern Suite
Emmet Cohen & Houston Person, Master”s Legacy Series, Vol. 5
Max Ionata, Jesper Bodilsen, Martin Maretti Andersen, Like

Medeski Martin and Wood are an amazing jazz/jam trio. Others have mentioned Brian Blade and Joshua Redman, two that I’ve recently stumbled across and am really enjoying.

These guys go places! I saw them once on their own, and once with John Scofield sitting in on guitar. They certainly embrace a "jam band" aesthetic. :smiley_cat:

I think that you were out at the same time but returned a bit earlier. Good to be back!
I got extremely busy between Thanksgiving and Christmas as I built carving boards and such for local women as well as gifts for family members.

When I read this I thought it said 'search' where you really wrote 'such'.

They did a studio album and a concert album with Scofield. Excellent stuff. I'm into jam bands, and these guys are popular in that scene, even if they don't quite fit the traditional mold of what a jam band is.

5670, 396, any of the small tubes...unfortunately I'm in CA or I'd take a picture of what's on my desk (JAN 5670, silver).

Silver looks much better in person...it's actual brushed aluminum, which was very very hard to pull off without marking it up while forming. Kudos to Bloomers Metal Stamping in Valencia!
While I love black, I am not a fan of the painted version. While most every piece of Schiit I own is black because it fits in with everything else I have, I have to handle it gingerly or I end up seeing chips in the paint. I'm not roughhousing with it either, just normal, even gingerly, handling during setup.

I would absolutely love to see Schiit in brushed, black anodized aluminum. I know that will never happen though. From 30 years of experience I know. While black anodize looks amazing, a fingerprint will ruin that look immediately. You need to be very cognizant of handling to keep it pristine. Just had to throw my wish out there. Thanks for perusing.
