My high school had a Mr. Dick (guidance counselor) and a Mr. Butt (choir director). The damn town was so conservative, we didn't really see the humor or the possibilities staring right at us. :)

Edit: Should have written my and Don's high school, as Mr. Strimbu was my classmate. @dstrimbu

In totally unrelated news and with apologies for this post interrupting the flow and possibly for it causing what seems likely to be inevitable controversy :)New from Roon, $499.99..... (this news may be useful to some since nucs are dead)

I saw that. It's actually quite a bit less than I thought it was going to be. I like.

Beat me to it. I have Roon but don’t use it much but this may change that. That’s a Harman price so maybe things are looking up.

I am starting on a trial version of a mini rack using black walnut and honey locust. This concept seems to work fine, and let’s me know the build can be done. I will use this one as a pattern for the @bcowen build and donate it to one of you when both are completed.

It sounds like it may hit a wall at digital EQ, plus speaker balance, plus up converting to DSD 256. DSD being irrelevant to Schiit DACs of course but if you have other DACs in house capable and speaker placement out of wack in a room it can be a feature many may like.

The Titan won't break a sweat but it is serious coin at $3,700.00......but then again so are a lot of things these days.....like vintage tubes!

Don't try, just jump to the most recent page and if a conversation looks interesting, you can back-track. But as you know, most of them... aren't. :)

The new small Nucleus appliance is interesting. I don't need another server platform but if I did, I might consider it.

I just put a little mineral spirits on it, but it will look better soon. Final sanding is done and I am applying finish.IMG_7568.jpegIMG_7567.jpeg

Probably a better look. I will mount the support posts on a base at some point.

You'll need to make a substitute shelf with a hole for those massive tubes and adapters people are using.

Kind of like a spiral staircase from one shelf to another :-D

lol I would hope the Vali would be on the top shelf to allow for that. @bcowen demonstrated what that can look like.😁 you want the ability to easily roll tubes.

What is the thickness of the walnut? Looks to be 1/4 - 3/8"
