Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

We still miss the red 4-door Quattro we had as a company car when we lived in the UK in the late 80s. Its ridiculous acceleration (for the time) and my wife's (still) amazing reflexes with the stick shift saved us from a rogue 18-wheeler on the M11 (I still shudder to recall), and multiple other adventures. I have tried since to convince her to get a sportier car than Subarus — her driving deserves one — but nothing can match that Quattro in her estimation.
A Panamera 4 would surpass the Quattro. :)

It's a lost cause, she hates the idea of expensive cars, however much YOLO persuasion I send her way <shrug/>. I don't care for cars myself, provided Subaru Crosstrek has the right tires for Sierra snow and ice

We had a Miele that worked perfectly for 10 years. Wanted to replace the racks, wound up buying a new dishwasher. But if hou have to repair a Miele, you’ll wish you had a Bosch…
Back in the Netherlands Miele was my go to brand for washing machines and vacuum cleaners.

The only video displays I will buy are Sony. But not from Costco since they often sell "special" versions created just for them. To each his own, as always.
Yes, we have SONY and Philips, both excellent for the small price. Indeed don't buy those mass price dumpers - AND check product codes, also region dependent dynamics (to do crazy pricing, here in PT often same model but slightly different 'code' makes the same TV more expensive than in the north of EUR)
Worth to do investigation of all specs

After a live concert this weekend I came home and thought the sound was a little thinner. Changing Kara from x1 to x4 gain stage corrected that. I seem to change between those stages periodically. Options are a good thing.

Those with Kara… are you fixed on one gain mode or do you change it periodically?
I got the Freya S and my experience is that it depends on total system and content (quality of the recording). Before my subwoofer implementation I used x4 gain and swapped to passive sometimes - when less distortion was nicer than the extra juice you get with x4 gain. Now with my one box stereo sub in place always in passive, my overall SPL increased drastically!

A Panamera *defines* ugly… YMMV
I can’t say ugly?

PPS: Nannybot doesn’t allow “F” +”ugly” for some weird reason

Electrolytic caps should never be used in speaker crossovers. I mean unless you don’t care about sound quality.

I only use NPEs on the woofer shunts. Just the largest values. Then those are bypassed with low value film and foil caps. Everything else is poly, usually Mundorf or ClarityCap.

Madisound and Parts Express has them.
I still had quite a few leftovers from when I had my speaker business in 1986.
Bought them direct from KSC back then.

The various Erse capacitors and inductors are still available too. The company is now US Coils. I haven't tried the rebooted company parts, but hopefully worth a look. 🫣
