This whole Yggdrasil GS business is making me very mad. It's making me want to spend money. Yup, it sure is.

it is lovely to shop with a full wallet. was making some suggestions for a friend for a set with his Rega P3. Brands in my suggestions for speakers and equipment: Amphion, XTZ Sound, ZuAudio, HECO, PS Audio, Schiit Audio, Hegel. He has a full wallet so will be good. During this exercise for my friend i got the vibe with Klipsch Forte III and from there it is easy to go Aegir times two plus Freya S on top of a Gungnir MB .... with the new USB (thus a Bifrost2 on steroids) multiplied by the coming cd-player named Álfr (just guessing)
Would be very much my dream set for about 10K with cables. WoW got to save and to convince... how do you sneak that into the house; slowly but surely

Not sure if you are referring to the Yggdrasil or Magni, but if you look at schiit's website, both of them do have voltage options.

Weeeeellll, probably not.

Two reasons, really. First, cost. Vali 2 needs inexpensive NOS tubes. If we had to put a JJ in it, the price would have to go up. Same with Valhalla 2. A full complement of new tubes would get hurtful real fast. Also the E99CC is NOT the same as the 6N6P; it has a different pinout. Second, our experience with JJ E88CCs was not stellar. This is admittedly almost a decade ago, though, so we're checking out their E88CC again to see how they fare.

But in terms of new production 6SN7s, the JJs have been amazing.

So when is Vali 3 coming with 6SN7s?

Very cool on the SE versions of Yggdrassil, and Magni 3. The outreach to involve students is awesome.

Yggdrasil is upgradable. When the Unison interface card is released you can buy one and install it into Yggdrasil...

hey @Jason Stoddard how set are you guys on not letting the Yggy GS not be analog-upgradeable? If a newer analog card comes around in a year or two, will Yggy GS's be blacklisted from new analog updates that come (if any)?

Nope, you'll be able to update to new analog cards whenever you want. No blacklist.

Edit: and 2 years off the warranty, and some used parts. Ah, well.

It's same as Yggdrasil Analog 2, same return policy, same everything, just used Analog 1 boards and a shorter warranty.
